Ok chaps recently got a 2.3-16 as you know..... Gettin somewhere with it now, hooked the battery up and found a broken wire which is now repaired. Car has managed to turn and start for 5 secs, but once throttled she cuts off, there is no buzzing coming from fuel pump when ignition is turned on. Voltage has been checked when ignition is on full, this is only showing 0.04 volts, can this be the fuel pump & should it show 12v?? All fuses and OVP relay checked and working ok.... Dizzy cap/rotor/leads/plugs checked and in working order... Breathers all ok....although can only see from the top.... Does the fuel pump have a seperate relay, if so where is it? Any help appreciated...thanks |

I may well be wrong here,,,,,but i think, the fuel relay is part of the big black multi relay in front of the fuse box. Like i say, im not certain at all. It may even be one of the others in the same location. |

The fuel pump relay lives next to the OVP (near the battery). They are not cheap, but before tossing them away, it's worth cleaning the terminals, (Dremel, nail file, whatever) as they 'plate up'. Neither is it easy to hoik them out if they've been there since new. Believe me... |

remove the relay (next to the ovp relay) then remove its outer cover look very very very closley at the solders as what happens normally is you get a dry/broken joint it took me a while to find my bad solder but they can be fixed also you can bridge two of the plugs to override it but can remember which ones

Just passing time at work and examined the diagram, my OVP sensor is behind the battery and on the right hand side... according to the pic it looks like the fuse box houses the ablove relays... Are these in the fuse box or behind battery?? Also, blonde question.... What does a relay do? |

look at the battery and you will see a thin black plastic cover behind it remove that and you will then see the ecu and to the left of that the ovp and the fuel pump relay ovp has a clear plastic top with 1 or 2 spade fuses in the top the fuel relay is a larger black square box both just pull out the ovp is sitting in a bracket that will come away then you remove the plug, will make sense when you do it a relay is bascically just a timed on off switch hope this helps a bit |
