Would this work or just make it run weak?? Surely be easy to rig up an induction fan without this cost!! Ebay link If i'm able in the next few days i might make my own!

Complete waste of time. How is a cheap chinese electric fan going to push as much air as an exhaust driven turbocharger? Ask the seller what RPM the blades spin at. Bet its no where near the RPM's of an actual turbo. It would actually be more of a restriction sticking that thing on your intake. |

To give you an idea. A 600hp turbo or compressor put out about 1000CFM. Now do your calculations for you car (scale it back to your horsepower). No way a 26$$ electric motor will push that much air (spec under pressure). Ontop of that if more air go's into the engine also more fuel is needed with the same AFR. Better leave this for your wife's hear, or blow up an airbed with it on you vacation. |

funny you should mention these as i has to spend quite some time trying to convince my brother that this is a complete waste of money. How people fall for these things i'll never know. |

Fully agree that no electric fan can match the std induction suck!!. But would the right pitch of (non electric) fan blade force more air through at full throttle? |

Well to analyse things a bit more in engineering terms, you are looking at a Radial electric fan. Radial fans are designed to transfer large volumes of air at low speeds. while axials are working at much higher speeds to give the same volume of air. The axials are more efficient than radials due to their design. And that mean the air will have lower temperature. From an aerodynamic perspective now, when the radial fan is not working it's going to give enormous restriction to the air going in the manifold, while the axial fan will have much less effect on the flow as the air stream is not that much disturbed. If you want to look at electric superchargers look at e-ram, as they are axial and work at high speeds. |

Cheers alogaparaloga, hadn't seen them before, bit pricey though!! E-RAM I have a deep pitch axial fan that i may try if i can make the appropriate adaptor pipe! |
