Hi All

For those who have not seen my earlier post me and a mate are taking part in this year's Screwball Rally in a 190e. Well we went to view our first one on sunday just outside Telford (please see link below).

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160344568938&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNARL:GB:1123

Was quite nice no sign of rust the only things that did worry me were; the engine had been warmed up, the accelerator had become unhinged from the base, there was a far amount of oil in the engine bay, the stereo had been taken out (despite it being in the photo's), and reverse gear was difficult to get into.

Anyways we decided to bid for it. I had my misses at home primed to put the bid in, but just as she was about to put in our bid........ the wireless router lost connection (I've been meaning to have a look at this for ages) and by the time she had unplugged it and reloaded it had sold. Nevermind maybe it was fate and the car was a shed.

Perhaps it's a SMALL way of telling you that a 190E is worth more than being used in a "Screwball Rally" ;)

Fate all the way. Whatever you intend to use the car for, good luck and be sure to enjoy every minute of it!

Well you never know, a week of driving a 190e may show me the error of my ways and convice me all modern cars are a bag of soulless shite. Besides we are going to look after it and not do anything to detract from it (other then put a few spandex stickers on for our sponsors).

Anyone else got the reverse issue? Sometimes it's as smooth as silk, othertimes it needs forced... For me anyway.

Best to start a new thread in the gearbox section.
