Any ideas if a set of oz wheels with the following info will fit my valver? -

Were fitted to Mercedes S Class but will fit other applications.

Rim size is 7.5 x 16 and the OZ wheel number is KBA42382. The bolt pattern is 4.5 " and the backspace is 6.25 ". There are eight centre caps, four Mercedes and four OZ, I have inserted two of each type on the pictures.

It says the offset is 6. Could that be right?

Dave - no pictures in your post, fella.
The bolt pattern is usually measured in MM, and is 5x112 for Mercedes.
God only knows what 'Backspace' is?
They could well have an offset as low as 6, but tbh until you post pics I'm in the dark.

Bear in mind that some S-Class cars (W140 and later, iirc) took M14 lugs rather than the M12 lugs used by smaller (our) cars.

That was the link.

What are lugs?

Lugs = Bolts, they hold the wheels on the car :D

Tbh you really should confirm the offset before bidding - if anything they look like quite a high offset from the (admittedly small) pictures, the hub face seems to be quite close to the inside of the wheel face.
Worth asking which S-Class type they came off.
Nice though!

The site I looked at suggested s class wheels were the same offsets, bore and stud pattern. I didn't think about the 'lugs'!

I just put two of the wheels on, I then tried to move it to get room to put the other two on, it appears that the wheel is rubbing on the suspension strut. I thought that the 16 inch 7.5j size would be ok. Any suggestions? Spacers?
Help would be much appreciated on this.

This is never easy to advise on without being next to the car. But......

What is stamped on the rear of the wheel? Look for the numbers that follow 'ET' and preceed 'J'. This will give you the correct wheel width and the offset.

A 7.5j wheel will be fine on a 190 so will a 16" wheel and the combination of the two should be ok too.

However, if the offset is wrong for the 190 it will rub. Is it the tyre rubbing or the metal of the wheel itself?

If it is the tyre, then for a 16" wheel I would suggest 225/45 or 205/50. 225/50/16 is too big and will rub sorry. If the offset is out then you may need to adjust the tyres width as well as height and drop to the 205.

I assume the bolt pattern fits as nearly all Mercedes wheels have the same PCD that is 5x112. 4.5 inches is about 112mm so I figure he just measured it with a tape measure for the advert.

Cant advise on spacers but I have seen them on ebay. Not sure I like the idea but an extra 10mm can make a massive difference getting wheels to fit.

Stu.

As a general rule of thumb, S-class wheel won't fit a 190 - the offset is quite a bit out.

But, bearing in mind these are non-OEM wheels, they could well have been a poor fit for an S-class so they might be an acceptable fit for a 190, really need some more details though.

The tyres are of incorrect size though.

looking at spacers, looks like they're a cheap option, just going out to check the offsets.
With a spacer I think I would be fine.
Anyone tried this route?

You would need at least 10mm spacers, maybe even 15mm.
With our cars (as far as I'm aware), you must use Hubcentric spacers.
Other than H&R (at well over £100 for two), there is a German company called FK that make them.
Do some Google searches, hopefully you can turn up some more info.

Barely anyone on here runs spacers, iirc?

Just revisiting the tyre questions! Can I use the tyres from these on a different set of alloys?
They're 225/50/16
It's just the tyres are so good I'd rather a new set of alloys than have to shift the whole lot...

Mega front arch gap.. i.e. space for big tyres.

Aye, but what's the offsets/widths for those? i.e the critical details...

Well the Evo 1 wheels themselves are 16x8J ET34, but on a non-Evo W201, 225/50 would still be too big. As Neil will have engraved on his headstone, the right tyres for these fellas are 225/45 :)

   Unless you have a genuine Evo-1, in which case the tyre size is, as stated above 225/50/16.

Sheesh!
Thin ice, Daveronimo, thin ice... lmao
