Thanks guys. Not sure what you were on last night but the wheels look good. if they do go on the blue one it will need to drop a bit.

They would not suit your car Chris. But if you really like them have a word with Tim29. You might pursuade him to part with his. I have to confess they really suit the blue car. But given that it is one of the most original cars around I really cannot see me slamming it just for the sake of a set of wheels however nice. I might consider sportline springs on the standard shocks. which can be reversed in an hour or so.Edited by aemt, Fri May 1, 2009 6:47 am.

Just heard from The Polished Wheel Company. Wheels just being finished off. They will bring them up tomorrow. Cannot fault the service. It is to be hoped that the quality of their work matches the great service. |

Jury is still out. The current thnking is to put them on the pre face lift as they really are too good to go on a daily. That gives rise to a decision on both tyre size and springs. ![]() On it's original springs the car does sit high so will really needs to drop .... say sportline height which means the current shocks can stay and use genuine sportline springs from MB. Only then can we look at tyres. Every tyre that has gone on this car including the original 6.5's has fowled on full lock. Not a problem when traveling. Only at slow speed i.e. parking. It needs a bit of thinking about so I might just have to be patient. Will get piccies up anyway so people can judge quality of refurb.

Update on the refurb. The wheels came back last week but the colour had been matched to the original factory colour, not the colour as it is now therefore lighter and did not match the centre caps. The finish was absolutely superb including the polished rims. So back again for another go with one of the centre caps for colour matching. Seems it was a communication problem with the paint laboratory. Going down Wednesday to check the new finish on one wheel. if ok they will refinish the others. |

Yep. They called in a specialist paint supplier to do the colour match. but they forgot they had to match existing visible colour rather than the original manufactures colour because of the signature centre caps. I suppose if they hadn't been going on the Nautical Blue they would have been passable; and most people would not really have spotted the difference with a bit of brake dust on them. Looking forward to getting them back though. |

The Carats have just been dropped off at the office. MAGIC. Will weigh them and post some piccies later on. Have to say that The Polished Wheel Company really did go that extra mile on these in matching to the existing centre cap colour. First rate service - and £40 a wheel including polished rims. |

They look fantastic!! Will look great on any 190E. Will have to have a go at refurbishing mine at some point. Can this company restore a kerbed polished rim? Or would the whole wheel have to be filled and painted? Losing the polished rim. Tim |

You go to the trouble of using castor cups so the table does'nt damage the carpet............................... then dump 4 alloys on it!!! Beautiful wheels though, almost a shame to use them now!! What diameter are they in the first pic..................................2 feet????
