Basically I am off on a driving/camping holiday to croatia in my merc 300td (w124), this roughly coincides with your event and your very much on route so I figured I would come say hi and stay over. Obviously I wont expect to bring the car on the track or anything but I do fancy meeting up and a bbq/couple of beers. I would most likely convoy over with others from the uk. In order to enter the event, and camp the night, but not actually bring a car to the stand do I need to get my name down or pay entry any of the above mentioned fees ? I would love to come in my 190e-3.0 but unfortunately for this year at least the 300td is the stead of choice

2.3-16v engine now in Posts: 3,065 Group: Members Member #2,263 Joined: February 12, 2008	if my 16v is road worthy tax and tested by then i would love to go but alas it will not be so maybe next year. unless maybe i can put my 8v on the track, would that be ok ?

Resident OVP Expert Posts: 2,697 Group: Members Member #11 Joined: November 6, 2005	Just so you all know did this trip 2 weeks ago and it took 2 days. Don't underestimate the time it takes; the AA online route finder said 6 hours 28 minutes Dunkirk to Stuttgart (which is just past Hockenheim) but that would have only been possible in a DeLorean or with massive disregard for the 80mph speed limit. It was more like 8 or even 9 hours at around 80+mph. Calais is another 25 miles compared to Dunkirk but I'd recommend it as the crossing is quicker. Just wouldn't want anyone to miss anything!

Au retour we left at 1pm and made the ferry in the early evening at 7pm or so with a healthy dose of right foot. Don't go on the main congested Autobahn. As I have previously posted go past Spa and Liege it's a good drive, less cars quicker and fun. Sorry chaps I don't think I can make it this year run out of leave.

Unfortunately he drives a celica but its only still on the road because of an OEM MB rad hose clip that took over when his jap one rusted through It will be day one of another big trip. What time should we plan to arrive ? Obviously I reckon a convoy is in order but roughly what time should I be planning for ? Looking forward to it, do we need to book/buy anything in advance ?

Kenny is taking his laptop , and I have a power inverter to run it off and Kennys mate is a video editor , so we may get some decent footage what with the camera mount as well . Member Posts: 6,573 Group: Members Member #2,018 Joined: December 9, 2007	Well I am back from an absolutely wonderful meeting , the car ran almost faultlessly , 1273 miles in four days including about 100 laps of Hockenheim . I will download piccies and videos later on , suffice to say a lot of fun was had by almost everyone , except an M3 owner , who spun out right in front of me , and into a wall , completely totalling his car . Unfortunately the camera wasnt rolling at that point . I would like to say a HUGE thanks to Henger for organising the meeting and for Maki for working so hard ensuring we got onto the track safely all day . Jeremy
