Just had this problem on my car, tried greasing all the other joints first as we couldnt pin point the problem, so came to the conclusion it was the ball joint. Creaked like mad most of the time, mostly at slow speeds an when stopped and turning the wheel slowly. but it did seem to stop every now an then??? (particularly when i reached the garage so they probably started to think i was goin mad) Replaced both ball joints £15each for parts but £230 for labour. One of the bolts holding the drivers side arm on was siezed absolutely solid so labour ended up costin fair bit extra just to remove the thing! All seemed fine drivin home tho, will take her out next time its dry an make absolutely sure! although when you think its lasted 20 years and presuming the replacement will last the same you cant complain! |

Good job to get out the way but I would be very surprised if they were still the originals. |
