This thread is only for info on Track Days, for example, good tracks to visit that offer track days, track manners, safety, prices etc. *Please note that any upcoming events should be posted in a seperate thread and not in this thread. |

Bedford Autodrome, tomorrow. Got a bad cold now, hoping it clears up by then. Be going downstairs shortly to check the car over, and strip it out. (rear seats, carpets etc) Tyre pressures , & fluid levels. I will be there all day from 07.30. & I've got a spare helmet, if anyone wants to pay the £25 passenger charge, (To them, not me), & come around for some lappery, then give me a pm. Jeremy

I have found the regulations for our cars, for current historic saloon car racing, albeit for 2008. BRSCC Homepage http://www.brscc.co.uk/lma.html 2008 Regs http://www.brscc.co.uk/force-download.php?file=2008/regs/LMARegulations2008.pdf From what I can tell DTM cars are in Class A And standard 2.5-16V are in Class D It's interesting to note whats excluded...........Pages 12-13 Jeremy

Hi there, Got a tracknight to go to on tuesday in the Racing Puma. Question about tyres - The book says 28psi for the fronts and 29psi for the backs I've heard mixed reports about whether to put extra pressure in them or take some out. I would have thought that take some out was the option as with heat the air will expand which will naturally increase the pressure. Am I right? And what psi should I then do? |

Hi, If your running road tyres, I would do a couple of laps to warm them up, as they will increase pressure the warmer they get, come in and then over inflate them by around 5-6 psi so around 34/35 psi in your case. This will help your edges and sidewalls. If your running 'R' compound tyres, ie road legal race tyres like Toyo 888, or Khumos, or Cups, etc then let them down to about 27/28 psi do about 3 hard laps come in and check them, and I would guess you will have to let them down some more back to around 28/30 psi. Tyre pressures alter all the time and are all to often neglected, even more so at Track Days. Regards, The Gorilla. |

I'm looking forward to the one I'm attending in June. So far have sourced some DS2500's and a thicker front anti roll bar. Currently investigating if a W202 C36 rear anti roll bar will fit. Planning on having the 16v dampers fitted before then as well. |

Thanks for that Mr Gorilla! Unfortunately there is nothing to alter pressures at the track. What would you do in this situation with road tyres? |
