Right start by fully lifting the bonnet, next remove the 2 seals as shown in the video, then remove the bolt i point to in the video, there is one either side and they are 8mm. ![]() Now you need to remove 2 Phillips screws, but don't remove them all the the way, when they are just about out pull the screw and it'll bring the back part of the clips out. ![]() Now remove the cover from the wiper arm as show in the video. ![]() Now remove part of the bulk head seal the remove the scuttle panel, as shown in the video. ![]() Next turn the ignition on and start the wiper then turn the ignition off when the wiper get 1/4 of the way across the screen revealing this ![]() This is the oil i used ![]() This video shows all the parts i lubricated, ![]() Now start the wiper up and let the oil work it's way into all the joints ![]() Now you can put it all back together the wiper has to be either 1/4 or 3/4 across the screen to slot the scuttle panel back in. i hope this guide has helped you, and i apologies for the poor videos I'm a man it's hard to multi task  Here is a few more pics i took. ![]() ![]() Nearly back togeather. ![]() Make sure this seal is on the outside as shown; ![]() Job Done! |

Not to be picky, but that will just be a temporary solution. btw, thear is a gasketseal just wear the arm goes inside the gearhose, so the oil will just drain away after a coupel of times. IF the wiper have a problem to make a smoth, quick wipe, its the gear-grease inside the gearhouse thats need to be re-newd whit new gear-grease. GREASE is the only alternative, oil will leak out. I have done this 2 times and its makes huge differens. |

i had a problem the first time it rained in the 230. worked on slow, just, but stopped when on fast. all i did was put on slow speed, and spray wd40 under the base of the wiper and help it along with my hand. did this twice and been good as gold since. |

wow, great detail matey !!! Vid makes it so much clearer. So you dont have to remove the rounded plastic part and grease it in there ? I guess the oil will soften up the old 20 year old grease. |

I have never done it but aparently you can :- http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=28453 I think your way may be fine, the oil or wd 40 will rub on the hardened grease on the inside and gradually loosen and soften it spreading it on the shaft. Thats my thoughts anyway. [EDIT] looks like I was wrong, assuming ours is the same as the w124 then it is held on with three allen bolts from underneath that are inaccessible until you take the assembly off. moved and pinned. Most wiper threads are in this section so best to put it where people look. ps, I just popped out and did mine, what a difference, Hopefully it will work above 70 now. I love late night car maintenance

I'm not so sure on how you've done it.... feel free to correct me, but if you take out the wiper mechanism there is a sliding mechanism. If I remember correctly a metal arm which reciprocates in a rectangular slider housing, this is surely the part that needs greasing with a proper grease that won't wash or drip off? |
