Shame about the weather but at least it made em all look shiny :)
Good to see you all, and such a nice range of 190s as always.

Good to see the 199 brigade out in force.

The pics get worse as my camera gets more damp :(
If I missed any reg plates let me know. I assume the bike wasnt one of ours ?

well done kenny, good to meet everyone, or so I thought, until I saw the fotos,I scrolled up....then I scrolled down, and still I couldnt see an individual shot of my car, well .........? yes, I know you think its only the chrome wheel arches that are holding the whole thing together. puke.gif at least now I know how to get my bonnet FULLY open, and I wasnt the only one either......! that was worth the price of admission alone jeremy :evo2: :driver:

A few pictures that my friend took - sorry there's none of a couple of the cars (Crysak's etc - sorry mate).

Sorry I only brought the one car along (the 2.5-16 Auto), but as I probably told a few of you, I managed to break one of the toes in my left foot last night so it was a lot easier to drive than my manual car!

Pity it was a bit wet but at least it didn't pour down on us. Forum Member 'Enthusiast' had a very clean 2.3-16, beautiful :)

Thanks for the drink, I'll be looking forward to the next GTG - hopefully sometime in the next few months, weather should be better by then too B)

they all looked geat without exception, must have been the rain :P

Great to see the small zender spoiler in real life SmiffyMan, really growing on me. Perhaps I need to buy another one to put a zender on. It looks even better when moving as per the excellent 'get me the hell out of here' pic :P

And 190d_2.5, you offically have the smoothest 190d I have ever driven or seen, in fact the smoothest diesel of any sort I have ever driven or seen. It now my mission to find out how and why. I though the 'diesel feel' was just natural for diesels but yours doesn't even have that !!

I will dig around but I think I must have missed taking a pic of yours jeremy, tried to get them all but what with the rain and the fact they were nearly all black it was harder than normal. Where was neil when we needed him, to polish our cars and take all the photos :P

We should probably make an effort to line up better and take more action shots, the ones thats a section image for the gtg section looks amazing, was it from the first retro show ? I am always up for videos (when it isnt raining) but its a pain to remove the reg plates.

Cheers for the parts rm_merc_190, top bloke.

Glad there don't seem to be any pics with me in, I scared myself in the mirror on the way home, I looked like a drowned rat !!

And the award for 'most supportive partner' has to go to CrysAk's shivering lady :) The prize is free entry to the next gtg.

Thanks Ken... The smoothness is down to longlife TLC: up to 180k it had an oil change every 6k; now it gets an oil/filter change every 3k. It also loves the (well filtered) waste veg she gets to slurp down for free. Don't forget, it's also fine MB engineering!

The Beast looked great; love those tinted indicator lenses ;)

Kenny , you get my vote, any one who can make my car look even half reasonable must be ok.you cant even see the brushed on emulsion which looks like its been painted by Tracy Emin on acid.
Next time ,soon we hope, we should do some driving, ,maybe even a driving game or two, like those "hunt for clues" type thingys.over a 20 mile or so route. I forget what the're called. I would especially like to know what some of the larger engined cars are like to drive in.

Its not just the engine though, the entire thing felt smooth. I guess its tlc of the gearbox and the diff too. I am starting to think that a tiny amount of slack in the drivetrain, although not obvious makes a real difference to the feel of the car.

Hell it was worth the trip and the soaking just to find out that I could open my bonnet all the way past the fixing pin.

Won't bother with a 'Rykers Breakfast' again. Looks and tasted like it was made in Gamleys!

Good place for meet though and a decent pub just down the road. Try again in spring maybe.

Zoomer: waddayamean - maniac! I did'nt go over 70 all the way. OK I admit taking the roundabouts at 70 was fun, but how else am I gonna get my rear end to swing out. (Steady Jeremy!) :D
