Anyone know a ball park figure for the weight of a 16" alloy wheel with tyre?

Have you/neghbours got a set of bathroom scales?

That depends on the wheel and tire combo. They vary pretty wildly.

for wheels, you can start out by checking Wheelweights.net. For tires, call your local supplier, they should have a database that shows the weights of the size tire you have in mind.
