Yeap both steve and Bunbutchers cars are running 17" operas... 18's will be alittle too big, they will be okay if your not lowering but 17's are perfect with a 40 or 60mm drop and are plenty big enough... I think you should add a splitter, A BMW one or laguna seems to work well... A nice Nardi, Momo, OMP steering wheel to finish of the look on the inside... Maybe leave the chrome strips on the grille chrome but keep the colour coded frame... Full leather seats etc all the bits Will make a lovely cossie... |

only problem is the opera 2's i want only come in 18s+
how much arch work will be required to make them fit with acceptable tyres? the tyres i got on mine at the mo are fine untill i hit anything more than 1inch high :S not sure what i will do with teh grille yet, will possibly put on an avantgard colourcoded as mine is at the mo., not too keen on keeping things chrome (hate it lol) apart from the 2 stars. will probably throw the sterringwheel i got in mine atm in there, (momo) and spray anything wood with black as i have in mine also. just tidy it all up a little. will also be soundproofying EVERYTHING, floor/roof/doors/boot and thowing on a stainless steel exhaust system inc downpipes. + full audio system. just a bit worried about the exhaust and audio conflicting... so thats not set in stone just yet, will prob go with audio over exhaust. but hoping the sound porrfing will helpn alot, these cars seem to be sound proof on the inside as it is. |

Chris, 18s are for show cars. Cossies are for driving HARD. Fit 17s, or feel the pain. You've been warned  |

Yeah^ As long as you find out the ET of the opera 2's then you should be okay, a 40mm drop will rub like mad over bumps and maybe when turning on the bumper, so you may need to move the bumper forward and flare the arches out a bit apart from that you should be okay with the deep dishes on the rears... A remus back box will put a nice note on the 16v and as for audio depends on how far you want to go, if it is going to be a show car then there plenty of options... As for the spraying everything black, i would instead put carbon effect on the wood gear surround or if you wanted to do it "properly" get some carbon and get some made up the same shape as the surround with all the switch holes and inserts etc.... Again it all depends on how far you wanted to go... Inside of the door *must* be soundproofed as they don’t have any padding or proofing there.... |

I always thought the Zebrano gear surround looked lonely and out of place in the 16vs, as the heater dials and ashtray don't have any matching trim, unlike the later 8v/12v cars. Personally, I'd do it in Piano-Black

You'll soon see what the fuss is about Take it past 6500rpm and you will see whats these are about hell spin it round to 7000rpm... Once you do that you wont stop wanting one!! Drive both, they are so different but yet soo much the same, you'll see what i mean, the 2.3 is so revy! yet the 2.5 has that top end.... If it is a manual you will fall in love with the dogleg gearbox, it takes abit of getting used to tho.... |

wow.. not only was the car IMMACULATE, very little rust, and extremely well kept (25k+ in receipts for past few yrs, with alot of things replaced and tuned every 6 months) (2k audio system + radar/cat 1 alarm) but these cars are lovely to drive i want 1!!!! just kept pulling to the red line and that was in 3rd from 10k revs.... my icle 1.8 doesnt pull so much even in 1st or 2nd :(, the guy said it doesnt really pull until 40k, but compared to the 1.8 it pulls so well in teh lower revs lol am also def getting 17s, trying to get out of the traders parking lot without damageing them took longer than the test drive lol think ill try a 2.3 next if only this one was in 199 and the rpice (6k) was a littel better would of def gone for it.. if *cough* i had the money right now |

Yeap, they dont really pull down low, you have to keep reving them to get anywhere.... You sometimes look right stupid when people look at you when revving the car... But yes after around 4-5k is where the power comes in.... |

lol yea well compared to the smoke silver and red, 199 wins by a longshot imo. atleast for what i want to do with it. the car seemed to pull well 9atleast enough) for what i wanted it to do in the lower revs, so i cant complain too much, didnt try revving the tits off it lol, will save that till i bought it ^^ also worries me a little if i need to do that and have a stainless steel exhaust on... gonna be a tad loud |
