I now have a set of AMG 16 inch wheels on my 190, which I swapped for my standard 8 hole alloy wheels (via here, & I yhope all is well Jerry). Got used to them now-they give a noticeably firmer ride tthan the standard 15's, and I think they suit the car well. They were in fairly good condition when I got them (although the outer rim on the front rims were a bit pitted-nothing that a Scotchbrite pad ands a little polish didn't sort. However, I really want to polish the outer lip of the wheels but removing the paint is very difficult (at least compared to the average motorcycle wheel). The main part of the wheels are really good, so do not need to do anything to them-anyone have any suggestions as to how to remove the paint so that I can polish the rim? |

My experience of powder coating on my sons 2.5 16 wheels is totally negative. Bad finish and they mark with every splash of water and brake dust. Thats even with brake dust barrier polish! Will have them stripped and sprayed soon! |

Yes they are unfortunatly. Thing is i asked for then to be sprayed in the first place so they dont have a leg to stand on. They are going to redo them asap but first job is fixing the crash damage that my car sustained when i was hit from behind today

Yep 3 car shunt too. Bit wierd as i was panicking when i got out the car as the force pushed my sterio out. I saw his car with broken lights, bust radiator and bront bumper split in too...... turned to look at mine the bumper went straight back to where it should be, looks like i was never hit
There will be damage there and the block was moaning saying it looks ok so live with it <_< urm no how about you buy me a new insert and bumper shocks you mupet
