Hey there guys, failed the MOT on two tyres and a bulb, fronts were just under the limit, looks like tracking needs to be done again as its the inside of each of them but it's not too bad.

So, since i pledged to always now replace sets of four with sets of four, FINALLY got some Kumhos again. KU31s, all round, £240. £60 a piece, free fitting and balancing etc so not all bad.

Very happy so far but it hasn't been dry since they been on and they're not scrubbed up properly, but i am expecting big things from these tyres compared to the ChampiroGT (Pirelli Budgets-I won't touch them again, they're not TOO bad but they aint much good either. Far too greasy.) i had because they were the only correct profile!

Incidentally, there is a couple of MM on each of the rear and they are suprisingly worn quite evenly. I have both rears still and will be keeping them as spares but if anybody is short of cash, they are 215/40 17s and both can be had for £30. Just to help out. There is probably another 2500-5000 miles left on them.

Loved the Kumho 712s i had before and even those were +5% profile to what they should have been so we'll see!

ANYWAY, BAD NEWS.

(I think it's..) Rochdale Tyres, the biggest importer, distributor and holder of tyres in the UK burned down to the ground on Thursday morning. They were the major online seller of alloy wheel and tyre packages and i have it on good authority that they were making only £10 profit on each sale of between £400-£1200 pounds. That's on sets!!!

So expect prices for Tyres, Wheels and comlete sets to go UP in every aspect of the industry. At least for a while. Could be a very expensive time for some people.

Just thought i'd spread the word.

Regards

Mart

I love offset.

KU31's, I have those. A great tyre, super grippy in the dry and nice and predictable in the wet.. Should suit your driving style eh ;)
