Hi everyone,

I'm new to joining this forum although I must confess that I've been 'lurking' for a while before registering.

I'm an active member on www.mbclub.co.uk so some of you might know me from over there? :)

Anyway, I've currently got a 1990 190E 2.5-16 (owned since April) and I've owned several W201s before this (an '86 2.3-16 and a couple of 2.0 models). Also owned two W202s but have returned to the fold B)

Anyway, I'm from Surrey and I'll definately be up for the 25th GTG at Brooklands, it's actually very close to me.

So basically just saying hi, and hope that I can both learn and contribute to what looks like an excellent forum! :driver:

Cheers,

Will

Hi!

Nice to have another 2.5, tell us more about your car... is it manual or auto? What sort of repairs/work have you done to it?

Hello again - a few quick pictures for all to see - I'm not very good at getting round to taking pictures, these were taken by another member on a different forum (they were at one of the GTGs).

Basically it's 199 Blue-Black metallic, 5-spd manual (Getrag) with 96K miles.

I've looked at loads for sale over the years and this one is pretty clean and original as they go.

It has a few options such as heated seats, electric drivers seat, electric sunroof etc.

Full MBSH (never been outside of the dealer network yet) and the previous owner has looked after it quite well (he was a retired rally driver and IAM assessor). Last service at Mercedes with 4 pages of work was around £3.5K hussh.gif

I plan on keeping it as original as possible, it's a garaged second car and I'll only be doing limited miles in it - sunny weekends and evenings, the odd GTG etc)

I hope to meet you all at a GTG soon :)

Russell

It's had a fair bit done recently, mainly ASD/diff overhaul at Mercedes, new suspension bits and pieces (anti-dive links, bit for the SLS etc), silly other bits like a new water pump, battery (again an MB battery lol) and some general service jobs, eg plugs, filters etc.

I've also got some new front shock mounts for it (the rubber pieces you see in the engine bay), new exhaust bracket and fittings etc.

I've done a load of the silly bits as well, eg new MB mast for the aerial, headlamp wiper blades, new badges/chrome strips for the grille, new MB mats etc.

Looking at checking the valve clearances at some point however it's not overly noisy for a 16v at present.
