howya folks just purchased my 1988 cossie 2.3-16 now with all the trimmings and its sitting in the drive complementing my 1991 190d. autobox is great, i love the way it reacts to even the slightest change in the throttle and sometimes just changes itself for the hell of it. everything works lovely except for 1 - the air conditioning. i dont know much about air con in cars so any help there would be great. 2 - the wee clock between the oil temp gauge and the battery gauge but i dont think there's one of these working anywhere in the world 3 - the left rear electric window. though i saw a new motor on gsfparts.com for 70 quid |

Neither does mine - common fault on 190's as a whole apparently. I think it's due to a loose connection or something in the door - easily fixed. Haven't bothered with mine as I never sit in the back!

Welcome to the site mate, i think the clock is the lap counter but i,m sure if i,m wrong somebody will let me know, and to find a cossie with it working is like finding the holy grail you can buy a new one as i seen somewhere on the forum but be prepared to spend a couple of hundred quid.

welcome !! The aircon may just need re-gassing, I am not an expert but if you post more details it may give people more of a clue. As mentioned a working lap timer is pretty rare. The window could be one of a few things, does it do anything when you press the button ? Without the engine running and WITH the headlights on press the button. Do the lights dim slightly ? |

cheers folks checked the lights kent, but they dont dim when i press the window button. checked the wiring around the door but it is grand also. must be the motor itself. i think i can get the aircon gassed for around 120euro where i live, dont know if thats bad or good but they do check for leaks before they gas it and if a leak is found they dont charge for the check. drove it last night for the first time at night and realised only then the lights are gone on the dash except for the oil temp gauge. went to get lights but didnt know they didnt know nor did i what the model number is for the lights. any help? there's a cossie on ebay in falkirk looks mint. i emailed the owner askin about it, hes set a reserve of £3000 on it. if only i had waited a few weeks... |

have you checked the window from the front switch and the door switch ? Next thing to do is check there is 12v getting to the motor. If so then its the motor at fault. If thats the case the easiest thing is to change the whole mechanism. |

Sounds like its the motor to me mate. The rear ones are always known to go as they hardly get used. Just in a process of re doing all mine in the 2 litre
