I got some vids of the runs as well, but will take some time to convert to a freindly format. Plus, they are a bit arse. My hands were still shaking form the JET CAR !!!!  sorry to those of you who I missed, and next year I will make sure I allow more time, most likely coming the day before. It was a great day out !!! |

well i nearly got to race ash......lol............except they splti us at the last second <_< .................wasn't any other 2l up for game.......lol..........i did race dave and lost but he cheated,he had injection and i missed a gear

can't believe i only took two pictures! saw so many nice cars! did about 7 or 8 videos though... this was towards the end of the day, many had gone home (or drag racing!) and my eyes were worn out.

yeah, the more the merrier. obviously all the 190e chaps are nice and freindly but I was suprised how good the entire atmosphere and ALL the people were. Just the right mix of people, petrol, beer and suntan lotion Really relaxed, apart from the bloody noisey bumper cars... what was that tune it kept playing?? It took me hours to get it out of my head... actually, dont remind me what it was just dug a couple more pics from my phone

was a awesome couple of days................even if V and steve(elvis costello look-a-like one) had handbags at dawn till the 1st one to snap a nail LOL.gif and yes thats a diesel you see on the start line ........................mind trust kentronix to get one of me missing 2nd gear:rolleyes: :lol: :lol: :lol:

It was a fantastic weekend alright! Sorry to those I didnt get to chat to or say goodbye to, we got stuck queuing for the strip for a couple of hours due to no ambulances and an oil spillage! I'll post up my few pictures when I get back to Dublin, I didnt take as many as I thought as it was just so hot, and I was enjoying just taking it all in more anyway. I didnt even wander around looking at the other clubs cars! 190's all the way But it really is a great place everyone is so friendly and chilled out, all there for the love of nice cars and having fun with great people. I also think we had the most out of any car turn up? 18 or 19 190's there at once I think it was. Anyway its still all soaking in, and way too much happened to fit it all in now, there will be more debriefings later I'm sure

I also have only 1797cc but I did get a full Powerflow stainless de-cat exhaust system fitted the wednesday before And if it makes you feel better I beat Ashleys 2.0 injection too Pity about the gear miss though it could have been a close one eh Still, was great fun mate. Oh yes, I got the car dyno'd while I was there too I dont know if anyone else did, but I now have 102.5bhp wuhoo!! And the smoothest power curve you ever did see. I'll post up more about that later

Lads, what a day it was!
It was fantastic to see you all again, and great to meet some new people! An amazing turn out - we all did the club proud Sorry to all I didn't manage to say goodbye to, but it got to 16:30, and with a 3 hr trip and work the next day I had to get going  could have stayed there all day!
To anyone who didn't make it this time, or is umm-ing and ahhhhh-ing over coming to the next one.......you gotta do it! Its so much fun! Heres to the next one guys!

If i can take posession of the silver mint 2.5 16v i have had my eye on i will deffo be there next year,now the car is,nt for sale and the guy that owns it is unaware that i stop and look at it and wimper like a contented pup most days on my way home from work but if it,s still there when my finances are sorted i might make him an offer he can,t refuse. :ph43r:

Speaking of journeys. I know some of you guys had huge journeys back so I shouldnt complain BUT.... the M1 heading south was a nightmare. Stuck in traffic for hours, and really wishing the previous owner hadnt taken the a/c out !! 1.5 hrs on the way up, 3 hrs on the way down. Boiling like a lobster. Even my drivers side vent didnt work after I forgot to re-attach it when fiddling with the speedo cluster... D'OH !!! |

Oh, do I know how you felt!!! It took me around 2¾ hours to get back to London and yes the M1 was gridlock the whole way back!!! 45 mins to get up there, 2¾hrs to get back - ouch! But hey, thinking about how good the weekend was didn't make it seem so bad in the end..

due to something like 42weeks of roadworks on the M1 the lanes were split, there was a single lane on its own on the other side of the barrier. Silly me, thinking that as it had a maximum width it would be a good choice, all the lorries had to go the other way. Of course, due to the heat every now and then one car or van would over heat and have to stop. Being one lane it meant everyone else had to stop and wait. Everyone was getting irate especially as the other choice of lane was trundling along slowly but surely. I was still grinning from the day though, it lasted me all the way home in fact, there is still a noticeable grin even now

It took me three hours to get hom aswell....but that was 90mph all the way! It was a great day lads - thoroughly enjoying looking through the pics!

Hi guys, I have only just got on the forum, because when I got back at the end of Sunday I felt ill, and have pretty much been in bed until late Tuesday. I think it was some sort of heat exhaustion according to the doctor - I am even more jealous of those with air-con now! It was a good day, and nice to meet everyone and have a natter. Marcus Hopkins completely showed up my car by having his 1000 times shinier - I haven't actually cleaned mine for a month or two and it showed! Wayne - nice car, I didn't get to look over it up close though unfortunately. Not a great time on the strip though as I recall - why was that? Steve merc190uk - Didn't get to meet you I'm afraid, although I saw you on the strip with the 2.6 - excellent run you had there with a great start (just the right amount of wheelspin) and a good time. I'm sure the lack of an interior must have helped! Carl Mcgraw - hope I didn't offend you when I said you sounded older on the forum - it's just that your name sounds older (?) and you are very knowledgeable, so I assumed you would be older! Thanks for driving mine and Marcus's cars, and keep us updated about that interesting 2.0 carb... Steve UK merc man - nice to meet you too. I'll remember not to balance bottles of liquids on my roof in future! I still have your ignition computer though!! I never got to discuss diffs with you - how is the spare one you have? Could you PM me? Very very nice 16v by the way. Kenny - did you go down the strip? I never got to see your car.. I haven't forgotten the rest of you but have to go now, I have some pics which I'll post when I'm back from France, I'm going to the Le Mans Classic! Russell |

unfortunately not, I was a bit daunted by the sight of the jet car and then saw a car drop its oil all over the track. I figured if any car was going to drop oil it would be my 3.0 with a 2.6 slushbox Next year though, definitely.... I will allow much more time as well. I had no idea how much time you can loose watching 80s cars running a 1/4 mile !!! I think I only met 4 of you guys !!! |

Nice pics Steve, liking the few of my lil tank on the dyno
New signature is good too, maybe use it as the new GTG section pic on the front page? I'll be uploading all my pics (not as many as I thought I'd take) later, I still have to unpack and tidy up everything. I can barely get into my room with the exploded 16v kit all over the floor :lol: And I was busy last night showing my new exhaust to my mates, the car has so much more power now, and I nailed a perfect drift about 3/4 the way around a lovely damp empty roundybout Chuffed to bits!
