I mentioned this in a reply to another member's posting , but I thought it deserved a thread all of its own - just in case not too many people are aware of this. Did you know that Mercedes-Benz have an official used parts recycling centre ? Thanks to some of Europe's stringent environmental laws , Mercedes now have a facility to recycle as far as possible cars which have reached the end of their life . You can take your old car along to a dealer who will ship it off to the recycling centre where it will be carefully dismantled and all salvaged parts checked to make sure they still meet M-B standards : they are then offered for sale through the MBatc website at a cost saving over new parts and with a guarantee !
