An interesting read. I polish mine every six months, wax it probably every 3-4 weeks and wash it every 2 weeks or so depending on how dusty the car is (and obviously before I wax or polish it). I'm sure I do overkill on the waxing side of things but I want to build up a good layer of wax to prevent corrosion or damage to the paint. Merc190UK, I recommend Collinite wax. After reading the good reviews of it on DetailingWorld and using it for a year I can wholeheartedly agree with the guys on that forum. It doesn't cost a fortune - £15 a tin, and a 13 months later I still have half a tin remaining. You'd easily spend that kind of money on a bog standard off the shelf wax at your local auto parts store. Edited by nullogik, Mon Jul 6, 2009 9:16 am.
