At least the Vectra was actually made in Germany. I think the C300 might be a re-bodied 1984 chrysler Lebarron with a plastic mercedes emblem on it. No match for the 190 in my opinion. lmao

I have to get this car sorted out soon. Normally I go to the dealer for everything, but given the fact they delivered the car to me like this, I am doubting they will be willing to improve it. It's not up to typical mercedes standards.
There is a Pro race shop in town, and by pro I do not mean to say merely a licenced business, but rather an expensive shop that builds cars for the pro racing circuit, has a high tech machine shop, dyno test center, component balancing, engineering, etc. They balaned an 11,000 rpm honda for me once, balanced the drive line on my cobra to run smooth at 160 mph on the track, have done PREMIUM work on some other carsof mine. I think they need to work on the C300. This particular shop has often made me so happy that tears form in my eyes. For example they can take a stock part that shakes itself to death and balance it to run clean at 11k rpm. Anyone would notice the difference.
They balance everything, brake rotors drive shafts, wheels, pulleys; alot of people don't realize how poorly balanced are stock parts.

Typically my mercedes cars have never needed this type of work; they came from the factory well balanced. The C300 runs more like a cheap car. It was supposed to be an improvement to the C-class, but at 2200 miles, i'm beginning to frown. My old 2000 CLK never had any of these issues. I think getting the vibrations out will solve most of the rattles. I also think if a German engineer rode in this car, he'd kick the emblem off the grille.

I am half-expecting the problem is the with the air-pressure transponders the US government had forced companies to mount inside the rims. Do you guys have these in Europe?

My list as follows:
1) buff lemon-peel out of factory finish
2) all four tires fail "road force" test: replace them
3) Wheels: remove 5-6 six inch strips of weights (1 lb?) scrap sensors, scrap wheels, whatever necessary to eliminate shaking.
4) Find rattle in right rear door.
5) Find rattle in speedometer.
6) Find rattle in rear differential.
7) Find rattle in front.
8) Find rattle in Transmission.
9) Re-balance all brake rotors
