Just watched this in HD, and I partly agree with Jeremy in that nothing of any real note actually happens in the footage. It's edit-suite masturbation, fairly mundane GT footage dressed up as entertainment. Fluff. The other part of me is glad that people continue to develop new visual techniques for presenting motorsport, but the number one priority is CONTENT. Many of us have sat through F1 races where there have been only a handful of overtakes, no crashes, and 20 or so Safety Car laps. Doesn't matter if Stanley bloody Kubrick rose from the dead with a camera in his hand and shot it - it was still a sh!te race. Watched their retro Porsche vid too, and again - no ACTION. A procession of 935s, but no 'moments'. I watch car shows for this kind of visual escapism, but I watch motorsport for something else entirely. |
