I use trial and error but basically, cut the wheel out of the pic you want it from using the circular cut tool (probably the wrong term)

Paste it onto a new layer on the original pic and use the free transform to drag it into place and scale it. Then rotate it so the shadows and angle of things like the dish line up correctly with the original pic.

You will most likely need to use perspective (transform) to get it perfect but leave that until you have got the hang of the others. Then blur the edges between the original and the layer and use contrast/brightness to make it not stand out.

Most important is that layers are your freinds, and save often (in psd format).
