Newbie Posts: 36 Group: Members Member #1,433 Joined: June 24, 2007	Have had my 1.8 almost 2 years now bought it with a whining diff but otherwise immaculate with full MB history 86,000 miles. About a year ago started making enquiries about curing the whine, one so called specialist in Sussex never even returned my calls, another nearer home in Lincs gave various excuses as to why he could not do it even though i had booked it in weeks in advance.About a month ago a new Merc independent advertised in our local rag i contacted him and he gave my car a thorugh health check for Ł30.00!!! He could not do the diff unless i had an exchange which was Ł1100.00 from stealership but he new a man who could fit everything to make my car silent again.Well today i got the Merc back from Euro car care uk ltd tel. 01733 894441 (Peterborough) it is completely cured, Ram the owner of Euro car would not late me take the car until he had personally driven me in it to make sure i was completely happy with the car he is a man in his mid fifties who lives and breathes Mercedes ,he has a vast knowledge of our model and told me that the main dealership in his youth always changed the diff oil in new 190e models after the first 500 miles and they never had any problems with any of the cars they sold, needless to say mine will be going back in a month or so for the oil change. The cost of the work? labour Ł220.50 diff bearing kit part no. 2013500449 Ł130.00 including vat total cost Ł403.00
