Been a long time since I've written anything on the forum about the latest things I've been up to in the guise of the EEMCC.

One reason is it always seems to be 'yours truly' who takes the time out from our busy schedules of 'face book' and other things, with the obvious exception of our trusty chairman Alan, to bother to update/write articles and by now it's as frustrating for me as it is boring( possibly to some annoying), for everyone else seemingly.

I've even heard 3rd party many peeps say quite cruelly and without thought to my personal feelings, " Its all Pete Robdrup this, Pete Robdrup that".. well yes it is, but anyone can write articles in the forum. It's just that I choose to whereas others do not.

As Secretary I do tend to do a lot of articles and updates but it isn't because I like to see my word in print but because I really do love you lot to bits and care about you all.

Over the past two years I've been to as many (attended) meetings of MCZ at their clubhouse as I have EEMCC at the Speakeasy or so it seems at least.

I've been told that the forum is now 'old hat', a redundant trapping of a by gone age in the face of the mighty colossus that is 'face book'.

The forum is designed to keep the 'membership' informed as to what is going on should the unlikely event occur that members actually want to attend EEMCC events and enjoy their bikes.

Yes, face book is ok. True, we have a site there which, I might add despite all the hype isn't that oversubscribed by the peeps who really count... EEMCC members!

So what exactly IS the role of the 'closed' EEMCC group on face book? Don't get me wrong, I'm not against it either but some one please tell me.

The thing about the forum is that much of it can be viewed by anyone searching for the good old EEMCC on the internet. It's address is given out on a regular basis at rallies we attend and it does put us on the biking map in a way that the face book group does not.

So, with all these thoughts going through my mind I thought about the forum.

Is it a useful tool for the club? yes.

Is it something I enjoy updating and writing articles for? Yes.

So with the old adage, 'only do it if you enjoy it', I'm going to put on my thick skin, duck down behind the parapet and fill this forum with any thing and everything EEMCC related.

If anyone thinks, its all Pete Robdrup then in future they know what to do, finger, keyboard, type then 'post'!! lmfaro!
