Here is some teaching from Cash luna a preacher from Guatemala. I translated into english part of the study which i thougth would be helpful in our soon to come time of prayer and fasting for mmg
enjoy:

A. For the nations

The Lord gave us a great commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” (mat. 28:19). We can not only individually go to all the people in the world, it is physically impossible, but we can intercede in prayer so that the Lord brings workers to where they are needed, fill the roads and open doors, so that his word is heard and all become disciples and followers. When people change countries will change and their governments, we will reach unity in Christ and then we will have peace.

In the Old Testament, we find many examples on how the destiny of a nation can be changed through intercession. The word “nation” can be found 253 times in the bible and it means “ethnos” or ethnic groups. In other words, nation is the people in a country.

In psalms 2:8 the Lord says “Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance…”
If we pray for nations we are asking God for the conversion of all people in the world to His ways, for their health physical and spiritual, and for salvation.

In ever society exists 7 basic areas which mold the thought process of the people and are reflected in the life of a nation. These areas also have an enormous influence in the behavior and conduct of all the leaders within the nations and the people in power.

When we pray for a nation we ask for: the homes and the family, the church, the educators, the public shows, the means of communication, the government, and the commerce.

Promise of God for the nations:
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 chr. 7:14
Some biblical scriptures to pray for nations:
2 Tim. 2:1-2
Proverbs 21:1; 28:2; 29:2; 2:10-22; 16:10-13; 20:26-28
Psalms 68:10-11; 105:14

B. For the people who govern
“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4

Satan attacks all people but more so those who are in power, eminence, and authority. It is precisely the power which puts people in vulnerable situations to be attacked by Satan and his evil legion.

The scripture mentioned above says “first of all,” this means “before anything else” we should pray “for kings and all those in authority,” this means our government from national to local levels, the president his ministers, congress, governors, mayors, judges, military, police, etc. FOR ALL, does not matter the position, does not matter if they are believers or not.

If Christians interceded more for their governments and leaders, things would run differently in the world. Many times we question why things are not going well in our countries, when the reality is that we are not putting the first thing in its first place: intercession for the leaders instead of criticism and murmuring. Every authority whether we like it or not has been put by God.
His word says in Romans 13:1 “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”

Authorities have been placed by God to serve. The essential purpose God has for the authorities in our prayers is that conditions are set which permit the furthering of His word, for salvation of the people, and so blessings of peace, health, and prosperity for all can become a reality.

If Christian prayed with responsibility before all for the people who form the government in our countries, we would impede Satan to operate though them.

Every church has the responsibility of teaching how to intercede for what God asks first of all according to 1 timothy 2:1-4. Then we will see changes. We will see the hand of God directing our countries in all forms: spiritually, physically, economic, and in prosperity. You can change the destiny of your country starting today, in this moment, when you start to intercede for those who govern, according to the word of God.

Some bible texts to intercede for those who govern:
1. For just men who give reverence to God: 2 samuel 23:3; proverbs 1:7
2. For men not subjected to lusts and immorality: dt. 17:16; 1 tit. 6:19; proverbs 4:27
3. For wise men open to teaching: prov. 1:7; psalms 2:10-11
4. Merciful man and of good judgment: pro. 20:28; prov. 3:3-4
5. Men not subjected to bribes and corruption: prov. 29:4; exo. 23:8; dt. 16:19
6. For just judges, compassionate to the poor, the widows, and the orphans: Prov. 29:14; Dt. 24:17; Ex. 22:22; Is. 17:17; Jer. 23:3; james 1:27.
7. In general: 1 Timothy 2:13; Prov. 2:10-22; psalms 33:12; psalms 9:9; Dt. 28:10-11; Ro. 8:37; Prov. 21:1; acts 12:24.
