Praise him first Hebrews 13:15 -common ways of praising: Singing Psalms 30:4; Ephesians 5:19 Shouts: Ex. “You are Mighty!” Laughter: Not very common these days but still happens since God is the same always and forever Job 8:21 Giving Thanks: 1Chronics 23:30 Humbling yourself: bending your knees Psalms 95:6 Clapping: Psalms 47:1 Dance: Psalms 150:1...in Luke 10:21 says “rejoice in the Spirit” the Greek word for rejoice means “jumps of joy” which in Hebrew means “give turns in the air under the influence of a violent emotion” Lifting your hands: Psalms 63:4 Speaking and singing in Tongues: 1 Corinthians 14:15 Praise him with music and instrument: Psalms 150:1-6 Why praise him? Revelations 5:12 II. Prayer of petition/pleading: our own needs and wants should go along with an attitude of thanksgiving Phil 4:6 Marc 11:24 III. Prayer of intercession: for others God tells us to pray for: Authorities 1 Timothy 2:1-3 IV. Prayer of consecration or dedication Matthews 26:39 Confess your sins Give all areas of your life to god: emotions, fear, feelings, character, surrender everything to him V. Gratitude Psalms 100:4 Give thanks for everything he has done, is doing and will do thus you believe everything in prayer he has heard and is working right on it 1 Tesalonicenses 5:18 Ephesians 5:20 VI. Prayer of waiting in God Most times we talk and talk and talk and never wait to hear what God has to say…he spoke before and is still speaking now Psalms 37:7 VII. Prayer of binding and releasing Matthews 16:18-19 Bind- Prohibit, declare illegal and improper. This is the time to use the authority God has given us against the enemy specially if things like our families, finances, work, etc. are being attacked by the enemy. Release- make free, open, let, declare legitimate and legal something. This allows us to establish the Kingdom of God in Earth and opening doors that were closed. VIII. Prayer in agreement Matthews 18:19 These refers to several people getting together and praying for a cause IX. Prayer of wisdom and revelation Ephesians 1:16-18 X. Prayer in unity All people together for one cause Acts 4:24; :31 Psalms 133:1-2 XI. Prophetic prayer In this type of prayer we declare, confess, and decree by guidance of the Holy Spirit, the word of God, the plans and the purposes of Him Romans 8:14-15 Ezequiel 37:3-9 XII. Praise and worship All prayer sessions should start with praise and worship ENEMYS of the believer 1. Pride 2. Fear 3.Lack of perseverance
