Biblical examples, commands, and verses related to raising the dead.
Some people seem to believe that only Jesus could raise the dead. Ultimately, that is true, but He has used other people to do it also. Here are a bunch of verses showing times when God raised the dead through others, as well as through Jesus. I have also heard the verse from Hebrews 9:27 taken out of context to say that people can only die once. This is an incorrect interpretation because of the following verses. Usually, I have found that those who oppose this idea of raising the dead have not reached their position on the basis of scripture, but on a doctrine of man that says miracles cannot happen anymore. Since God is still God and has not said that His power would ever cease, I can find no support for their position scripturally. So here are some verses which clearly show that God used others to raise the dead and that Jesus commanded his followers to do so.

2 Kings 4:8-37 The prophet Elisha lays on the dead son of the Shunnamite woman, and the son is given life again.
2 Kings 13:20-21 Dead soldier was thrown into the grave of Elisha and was given life when his body touched Elisha's bones.
Ezekiel 37:1-14 Vision of the valley of dry bones which become living people when the word of God is preached to them.
Matthew 9:18-26; Luke 40-56 Jesus raises a little girl from death.
Matthew 10:8 Command: "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give."
Matthew 11:2-6; Luke 7:22 Jesus tells diciples of John the Baptist to report back the many miracles they see, including the dead being raised.
Matthew 27:52 Many saints were raised from the dead when Jesus died.
Luke 7:11-17 Jesus interrupts the funeral procession of the son of a widow from Nain by raising him from death.
John 5:21 The Father raises the dead and so the Son does also.
John 11:1-53; John 12:17-18 Lazarus is raised from the dead and the religious authorities don't like it, so they plot to kill Jesus.
Acts 9:36-43 In the city of Joppa, God raises Tabitha from death through Peter.
Acts 20:7-12 Eutychus falls alseep and falls out of a upper window to his death (v.9) and is raised back to life through Paul.
Acts 26:8 "Why should any of you consider it incredible (unbelievible) that God raises the dead?" - Paul
Hebrews 11:35 Refers to Old Covenant resurrections.

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasureably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
Ephesians 3:20-21

God's spoken word has the power to do all things. Of course God resurrects the dead. Resurrection is mediocre to God. You are dead on target to stipulate that God resurrects through others including Jesus. Bullseye is the Holy Ghost does all the work of resurrection.

The beauty of the Gospel is that by virtue of Jesus crucifixion and resurrection entitles any Gentile for a new rebirth to receive the baptism by fire and the Holy Ghost. When we are reborn as new creatures, then we receive the power of God's spoken word to resurrect the dead. When I speak of resurrection it is in a spiritual context. Whereas, the flesh in itself is a morcel of clay that returns to the dust.
