Has anyone in this forum seen this movie? It was extraordinary. I saw this movie the day after I got saved, and I spent 2 days crying in repentance. Most movies water down what Jesus really went through, but in this film, you see about 70% of his torture and mutilation. It covers the last 24 hours of his life on earth. And you can choose from hearing it in Aramaic and French, I think. I loaned it to a friend. But I would like to try to buy a copy or make a copy and send it to you, Fouad. My computer does not have a DVD burner, but I will work on getting you a copy somehow.

May I be truthful without offending my brothers or sisters in Christ. In my opinion, Mel Gibson did a tragic job to illustrate the Passion of Christ. It was a horrible flick. To me it ranks as the worst Christian movie I have ever witnessed. The scenes were too graphic.

I regret that I ever took my child to see the movie. As I was watching the scenes I was patiently waiting for something significant to occur that would educate my child concerning the passion of Jesus love. What I saw was like an old-time silent movie where the audience had to read each line to translate the Greek language of the actors. I thought that it was rude or Archaic the way he presented it.

At the end of the movie I was still waiting to see the passion of Christ. It left me and my child hanging in mid air. We could not sit down and discuss the movie. There wasn't anything to talk about other than how graphic Jesus died.

Frankly, I could not bear to watch our Lord and Savior being brutally tortued, disfigured and murdered. To me it is the same as the mother or father of Emmet Till watching a movie about their son being brutally tortued, disfigured and murdered. In fact, I wish I could wash away the scenes from my child's mind.

I would not recommend any parent to take his or her child to see the movie. I think that Christian parents should have admonished Mel Gibson, for making such a graphic movie, rather than to praise him. It sends the wrong message to highlight what Christian children need to learn about Jesus. We love Jesus, because he loves us. The fact that he was crucified is a tragic lost.

I think it is better that movie directors highlight his life and miracles, rather than his horrific tragedgy.

I am really suprised that you would take your child to an R-rated movie, Stanley.

Christ's passion was for souls. In fact, it was such a strong passion, we watch what this pure, perfect, innocent man (God's Son) went through in order to redeem the world (whoever would accept Him). The amazing thing that gets me is, recognizing how sinful I am, and knowing that I was supposed to be up on that cross and I should have gone through the whippings and torture. Plus, He was the one we sinned against!

The very one we sinned against took our punishment for us, and Mel Gibson portrayed it like it was- no candy-coated little trickle of blood on Jesus' head. It was bloody. It was ugly- it was horrific. And we all deserved it. But the lamb submitted and took it for us.

If you can't see the beauty in that, I would do some soul-searching and some self-examination.

The fact that we sinned is tragic, because the cross is what God had to go through to make a way back to fellowship with him for us. So we should be so much more thankful.
