Two young boys that don’t like school, spend their days in a park catching frogs. Well, after a couple of months like this they get bored and decide to try going to school once instead. They sit in the back of the class and are feeling silly because they don’t understand most of what is going on because they have missed so much. The teacher draws a frog on the board and asks what it is to the class. The two boys immediately start whispering to each other and arguing because they know what it is, but they don’t know if they have the right word for it. The teacher notices the boys whispering and decides to call one of them up to the board to tell the class what he drew. The boy said a frog. The teacher then gave him a little hit on the back of the head and told him to go sit down. The two boys were so upset because they thought they had gotten it right. That’s it. That’s the joke. Apparently, the punch line is that there are two words for frog in Arabic, one feminine and one masculine. Apparently the boy said the masculine one and it was wrong because the teacher had drawn the feminine one on the board. Yeah, I still don’t get it, but the Moroccans that told it to me were doubled over with laughter so it must have been a good one. By Melissa Bautch a foreigner who was in morocco . |
