![]() "Coming Undone" by Korn plays as we see images from years gone by in the CWA. Images of Dante, Moose, Rated R, Leech, Max Cameron, Sal Clemenzo, Simon, Scavenger, Myst and Pyro are seen before we head to the feed from Rogers Arena in Vancouver where the show is set to begin. A "Welcome back" chant starts in the crowd as the camera pans around the nearly full arena. There is no one inside the ring, but the familiar red ring ropes and black ring apron are in place complete with the CWA logo in red on its sides and red ring posts holding everything together. Instead of the usual chatter to open the show, there is a solid thirty seconds of fans cheering and the camera zooming in on fans holding signs which proclaim their love of the company and of the wrestlers who belong to it and have in the past as well. We then head backstage rather than to the announcers at ringside. Ray Dees is standing backstage with two mysterious masked men, both with blurred out title belts around their waists or shoulders, or what have you. Ray Dees - I'm backstage with the mysterious Los Palomitas Vengadores, Roca and Franco and - hold on a second, you two look really familiar. Franco - No habla. Roca - Yeah man, no habla. Dude, that isn't actually gram - Franco - Silencio. Roca - Sure, right. Ray Dees - But those are clearly the Survivor and Triple Crown Championships of the - Franco - We are Los Palomitas Vengadores, luchadores from Tijuana, we have no idea who you think we are. Roca - Si! Ray Dees - ... Roca - That means yes, in Spanish. Ray Dees - I know what that means. Roca - Just making sure, since you seem pretty confused by my partner's thick accent. Ray Dees - He sounds like he's from Philly... Franco - It's because...I trained there! Roca - Yes, to hone his skills that we mastered in Tijuana. Franco - That was actually better than what I was gonna say. Roca - I'm telling you man, this was a good idea. Ray Dees - My point stands, why are you here? Roca - Um. Duh. Because you asked us for a backstage interview. Franco - This hombre's loco. Roca - That means - Ray Dees - I know what that means. Why are you here? Roca - Are you talking metaphysically or like, filosóficamente? Franco - The hell was that? Roca - Philosophically. Franco - Right. Ray Dees - WHY ARE YOU IN THE CWA? Roca - No need to shout, guy. Franco - Isn't it obvious? We came here from Tijuana, which is where we wrestle, as we are masked luchadores who have never wrestled in the CWA. We came here to the CWA - Roca - Which we've never wrestled in before - Franco - Si. Roca - Si! Franco - Si! We have come here to prove that our style of wrestling is far superior to the competition's. We have come here to prove ourselves to the world, we have come here because when I was younger the only wrestling I got on my crappy cable was CWA. Roca - That and we like money. Franco - Money's good. Roca - Not to mention we are proud of our skills, we are proud of our abilities, in Tijuana the opposition was...let's say not so fulfilling. And a blade that is not sharpened loses it's sheen. So we are here to compete against the best of the best, we are here to challenge the warriors of the CWA. Franco - Also we're here because we know how to get to every arena the CWA does shows at so it's super easy to just go and not get lost or whatever. Ray Dees - You two are clearly not who you say you are. Roca - No one knows what is under the mask of a Luchador! Franco - Unless they lose their mask in battle. Roca - Or they take their mask off for stupid booking decisiones. Ray Dees - Guys, just be honest, you two are - Roca - Los Palomitas Vengadores! Ray Dees - ...I can't do this anymore. We then head to ringside where Ricky Simms and Henry Lesher are ready to call tonight's action. Ricky Simms - I am very glad to be here tonight for this tremendous event. Henry Lesher - Did you see that? They are so ashamed to be here, they are wearing masks. I forecast a trend here. I guess it depends if guys actually make enough to buy a mask from this company though. Inside the ring we see ring announcer Kosmic Kitty and she waves to a very appreciative crowd. She even blows them a kiss before she addresses them. Kosmic Kitty - Welcome back to CWA's Overdrive! Tonight we present the first ever CWA War Games match. There will be two teams of four which will battle until one team or the other submits in a match scheduled for a 60 minute time limit. In the event this match goes beyond an hour, it will occur again in two weeks at Dead By Dawn! The crowd cheers that announcement. Henry Lesher - One event and we are going to slap together a pay per view? That's worse than the other guys. Kosmic Kitty - The first team will be comprised of Samson, Michael Anthony and the tag team known as Legion! The crowd mostly boos this group of four which come out to no entrance music. Henry Lesher - The company can't even afford entrance music tonight? These guys had better take cash. Kosmic Kitty - And their opponents will be the team of Scavenger, Vesuvius, Eli Brody and Slim Pickens! The crowd cheers as Slim leads the way, smiling on stage while the fans start a chant for the former CWA champ. Eli stops on stage while the rest of his team make their way to ringside before he also makes his way down. He mumbles something to himself before he steps up onto the ring apron and the fans await the bell to get the match started. Kosmic Kitty - And remember, the only way to win this match is for a member of one team to force a member of the other team to submit! Kosmic Kitty then heads out of the ring while referee Mark Davis checks with both teams to see if they are ready to go. The crowd is still chanting for Slim Pickens while he chooses to start the match for his team against Michael Anthony. Ricky Simms - This should be an excellent match. Henry Lesher - Where is everybody? We have a reunion and this is the best we can do? Slim Pickens was last seen working as a security team member for Vanilla Ice in Amish country. The bell sounds and Slim starts trading punches with Michael Anthony. Anthony then gives Slim an elbow to the chin, whips him off the ropes and misses a clothesline when the CWA hall of famer ducks it and then he gives Anthony a series of punches to the chin which back him into a neutral corner. Slim then whips Anthony to the opposite corner before going for a shoulder block which Michael Anthony sidesteps before giving Slim a series of double axe handle smashes across the back. He then pulls Slim to the middle of the ring and applies an abdominal stretch while the fans start another chant for Slim. Ricky Simms - Solid start to this match for both men here. Michael Anthony is working on wearing down the veteran here while six men look on and await their chance to prove themselves as well. Henry Lesher - I want to see those mysterious Legion guys in action. I wonder where that reverend that spoke for them is. I expected him at ringside. Slim refuses to submit when asked by the referee and he tries to break free of the hold which Michael struggles to maintain it. Slim reaches towards his corner and then manages to execute a hip toss before diving to his corner and tagging in Eli Brody. Eli charges into the ring and gives Michael a series of knife edge chops which back him into the ropes and then whips him off the ropes before giving him a dropkick to the mat. Eli then picks Michael up and slams him down before placing his knee against the side of Michael's head. He holds it there for a few moments before then standing Michael up and ramming his head into the nearest neutral corner buckle. Eli then snap mares Michael towards the middle of the ring and applies a sleeper hold on Michael. One of the members of the Legion team steps into the ring and proceeds to kick Eli in the side of the head. This draws the attention of the referee and brings all six men into the ring while Eli shakes his head and gets his bearings. Ricky Simms - One of the Legion team members didn't want to wait for a tag. Henry Lesher - This is War Games, Rick, though a modified version. He is just gaining an advantage for his team. Scavenger clotheslines one member of Legion out to the floor while Vesuvius grapples with the other and then fall through the ropes and out of the ring. Samson and Slim Pickens trade punches in the corner and then Slim gives him a backdrop out of the ring before heading out to continue the fight. In the middle of the ring, both Michael and Eli get to their feet and then they move in for a lock up. Michael instead knees Eli in the gut and then eye gouges him before taking him to the ropes and placing his throat over the middle rope. The referee, aware that there is no disqualification in this match, simply looks on and waits to see if Eli will submit to the hold. Ricky Simms - A match like this favors the ruthless. Henry Lesher - Fighting always favors the ruthless, Rick. That's why my BasketKase was so popular. Michael releases the choke as the two Legion members manage to return to their corner and Michael tags one of them in. The large man in black steps through the ropes and then he starts landing kicks to the chest on Eli which send him backwards in the ring. Eli then gets to his feet and thumbs the Legion member in the eye before giving him a clothesline to the mat and then he rolls to his corner where he tags in Scavenger. The crowd cheers as Scavenger charges into the ring and starts trading punches and kicks with the mysterious big man making his debut in the CWA tonight. The Legion member then gives Scavenger an upper cut that staggers him before giving him a spear to the mat. As there cannot be a pinfall win, he rolls Scavenger over and applies a sharpshooter on the CWA veteran. The crowd starts a chant for Scavenger while the referee asks him if he will submit. Scavenger refuses and we see the masked men from backstage making their way down the ramp which draws a mixed reaction from the crowd. Ricky Simms - I doubt this is a good thing. Henry Lesher - Well, it is the CWA. I tell you, these Mexican Puerto Ricans from Philly are really familiar. Ricky Simms - I don't know where to start with what is wrong with that. The masked men grab folding chairs at ringside and they take a seat near the corner of Slim Pickens, Eli Ryder and Anarchy Inc. Eli spots them and shakes his head before turning his attention back to the action inside the ring. Scavenger reaches for the ropes which he can use for leverage to free himself as there are no forced breaks in this match. The Legion member tries to strengthen his hold and shakes his head when the referee again asks Scavenger whether he submits and the crazed one refuses. Legion releases Scavenger and drags him to his corner where he reaches to tag in Legion member two only to get slapped on the shoulder by Samson. Samson enters the ring and pulls Scavenger away from the corner. The two Legion members look at one another and then both slowly turn to look at Samson. Ricky Simms - I don't think they liked that. Henry Lesher - I would do whatever they like. They don't seem like the type you want to piss off. Samson goes for a figure four on Scavenger, but is stopped by a charging Slim Pickens who gives Samson a boot to the head, sending him to the mat. Slim then takes a spear to the mat from a charging Michael Anthony and they trade punches on the mat while Samson reaches to his corner for the tag. Scavenger slowly rolls onto his stomach and drags himself towards Vesuvius. The second Legion member and Vesuvius are tagged in simultaneously and charge in for shoulder blocks only to have neither man move. They back up to the ropes, charge at one another and collide with neither man dropping to the mat. They glare at one another and then the first Legion member enters the ring and he gets involved in the stare down, leading to Vesuvius saying he could take them both on. Eli Brody, taking advantage of the chaos inside the ring, heads to a neutral corner and makes his way to the top. He calls out to Legion and they turn just in time to take a double cross body block that sends them both down to the mat. Ricky Simms - The tide turns thanks to Eli there. Henry Lesher - Well, he had to do something cheap in the face of an awesome force like that. Vesuvius was going to screw his chances of getting the win tonight. Eli rolls out of the ring while Vesuvius puts the boots to the Legion member that is the legal man in the match, as legal as anypne can be in this case. He then picks him up and slams him to the mat before kneeing him in the forehead and then Vesuvius stands Legion two up, whips him off the ropes and knees him in the gut before he goes for a full nelson on the big man. Legion one gets to his feet and moves towards Vesuvius only to be tripped up by Eli as he reaches into the ring and pulls the feet out from under the mystery man. Eli pulls Legion one to the floor and inside the ring Vesuvius locks up with Legion two. Michael Anthony then rolls into the ring and chops blocks the feet out from under Vesuvius. The crowd boos as Legion two then pulls Vesuvius towards his corner and then puts the boots to him. Michael Anthony reaches for the tag and Legion two does make the tag. Instead of entering the ring, Michael drops to the floor and pulls Vesuvius towards the corner post and then places him in a figure four around that post. Ricky Simms - This is brutal, not sure how Vesuvius gets out of this. Henry Lesher - That's the kind of drive I like to see, hope this kid keeps that up. Scavenger heads around the ring and he makes the save when he gives Michael a series of punches to the face. He is then tackled to the floor by Samson and then the two of them brawl while Vesuvius pulls himself away from the corner. Eli reaches into the ring to make the tag, having returned to his corner. At ringside the masked wrestlers watch and applaud. One of them even motions to a nearby fan and asks for his cup of soda. Vesuvius lunges to his corner and tags in Eli. Eli charges into the ring and he finds himself face to face with Michael Anthony. The two trade punches and Michael goes for an eye gouge which Eli blocks and then he whips Anthony off the ropes before giving him a backdrop to the mat. Eli then goes to the ropes, makes his way to the second rope and then lands a double axe handle smash across the back on Anthony. Eli then applies a sleeper hold on Michael Anthony. The referee checks for a submission, but the two Legion members enter the ring and they double team Eli to break the hold. Slim slips into the ring with a chair in hand and he clocks Anthony over the head with it before he slips back out of the ring. Scavenger and Vesuvius then clear the Legion out of the ring and Eli goes over to Michael Anthony and sees that his forehead has been bloodied. The referee looks and checks the arm of Michael Anthony. He calls for the bell. Kosmic Kitty - The winners of the natch as a result of a knockout, the team of Eli Brody, Slim Pickens and Anarchy Inc! The crowd cheers while Eli looks upset with the result and he actually argues with the referee about it. Outside the ring, Legion brawls with Scavenger and Vesuvius to the delight of the crowd. The two masked wrestlers at ringside nod at one another and they slip under the bottom rope into the ring. It is the one who identifies himself as Roca who grabs the microphone from Kosmic Kitty. Roca - Hey, esse, name is Roca. Two weeks, esse, there is a big show coming. Eli - Don't I know you guys? Franco - No, Chico, you don't know us. Roca - Two weeks, esse, I make a name as the greatest popcorn vendor ever against you. Be ready, amigo. The masked wrestlers exit the ring to boos from the crowd while Eli looks on. Ricky Simms - So they were both scouting Eli? Henry Lesher - Technically, Eli was the wrestler in the ring when the match came to a finish. That makes him the top guy for the Mexicans to challenge. Ricky Simms - They really do not sound Mexican. Henry Lesher - That's kind of offensive and racist, Rick. Slim Pickens poses in the corner with a steel chair raised overhead, Anarchy and Legion still brawling at ringside and Eli exits the ring. As he starts to make his way up the ramp, the lights go out. Henry Lesher - No entrance music and now the generator died. The lights are out for a moment and then we see Legion standing over Anarchy Inc. at ringside with Reverend Mercy before them. He has a microphone in hand. Reverend Mercy - Anarchy has been judged and found wanting! They must be broken before they can be redeemed! The lights go out for a few moments again and, when they come up again, all three members of Legion are gone. Ricky Simms - Who the hell are those guys? Henry Lesher - No clue, but I like them and the Mexicans. Ricky Simms - I really doubt they are Mexicans. Henry Lesher - Racist. Ricky Simms - In terms of Dead By Dawn, in two weeks' time, we will broadcast our latest main event on Pay Per View, but we are delivering our pay per views at a cost of $4.99 from your local cable or satelite provider. Call and order to see the most unpredictable event that wrestling has seen in years. Henry Lesher - It's sort of like giving to PBS in that most of us are welfare cases. Ricky Simms - That's pretty cold, Doc. Henry Lesher - At least I'm not racist. We fade to the CWA logo. Edited by Shannon, Oct 7 2013, 06:37 PM.
