I'm going to need to think about this for a long time. I'll attempt either later tonight or sometime tomorrow. |

Love Will Tear Us Apart, Again
|
Fuck, I think I'm gonna have to do this one album per artist only. Even then, it's nigh impossible. I'll think about it and post my list over the weekend. |

Ivan made a thread of "ASR's Top Albums" a while ago. I'm making my candidates for this one now, though. |

Yea, but in this we're gonna make a final 25-album list based on which albums the board likes best. |

Notes - One album per artist - No Beatles - There are a LOT of albums that I really like but never had that "week of obsession" that I get sometimes. Just some stuff to fuck up the accuracy. Alice In Chains - Dirt Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality Elvis Costello - This Year's Model Iron Maiden - Powerslave Joe Jackson - Night And Day King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King The Kinks - The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II Lou Reed - Transformer Metallica - Ride The Lightning Neil Young - Rust Never Sleeps Nirvana - Nevermind Operation Ivy - Energy Opeth – Morningrise Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble - Texas Flood Queen - Jazz Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine Red Hot Mr. and Mrs. Tenorman Mr. and Mrs. Tenorman chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet Rush - Signals Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key Of Life Talking Heads - Fear Of Music Yes - Fragile The Zombies - Oddessey And Oracle How generic. I'm not even happy with the list. |

I think we should include The Beatles, but because we go through a process of elimination we'll actually end up with like a top 5 or 10 albums for ASR, and I'd be very surprised if that was all Beatles. |

The drugs don't work...
|
I'd like to voice an idea I have for doing this. Okay, each person chooses their top 25 in order. Looking something like this... 1) Album A 2) Album B 3) Album C 4) Album D 5) Album E 6) Album F etc... So then, the album gets points corresponding to it's position. Meaning that Album A gets 1 point, Album B gets 2, and so on. If two peple say Album C but they have it in different positions, let's say one person puts it as 4th and another puts it as 10th, then the album gets 14 points. After all the scores have been taken, the albums with the least amount of points are the most favorite. Of course, it can be backwards so that the favorite album gets 25 points and then it decreases, but I think it's less confusing with 1 point being your favorite album because it's like ranking. Does anyone get what I just said? Here's an example of what I mean... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_ra...ates_Presidents |

Yea, but I couldn't do that. It's just too fucking hard enough narrowing it down to just 25. |

Thinkin' one thing and doin' another
|
You rule for putting this on here. I reckon a much easier idea would be finding out what ASR's favourite album of each year was. Like everyone posts an album of the year list and at the end, we see which album got the top spot the most number of times in a year. Good/bad idea? |

Frankie, that wouldn't work. You'd need to divide the total by the number of people who have voted for it for that to work correctly. Otherwise, an album that twenty people put as their first preference would score lower than an album that one person puts as their nineteenth preference. I think it's fine the way I suggested it. |
