I'm listening to a live version of Videotape right now. A lot of people are complaining that the studio version is a bit stripped out and not as climactic as the live version. To be honest, though, I'm glad it's more on the minimal side. It would feel weird otherwise.

The lyrics on this one are really good too. Thom has ever closed out an album on a more positive note.

I actually loved the lyrics all throughout the album (except for that one line about "chopping my heart like you chop a tree"* or whatever it is. eugh). My favourite ones are on Nude.

EDIT: *Wtf, that lines from a Go-Betweens song. :fear:

It really isn't that good. Hail To The Thief is MUCH better. Btw Ivan, how many albums released this year have you heard?

Videotape version is OK. On the other hand, they completely screwed House Of Cards. That song has no reason to last that long.

Hail to the Thief is good, but this album feels much more coherent.

Candy stripe a cancer ward.
I love the song Nude. So far that is my favorite song. Last night I was listening to just that song and then I went to bed. My mom opened up Windows Media Player and saw "Nude 03" at the top of the player. She thought it was porn and got all mad at me. It was funny.
My body is a cage. That keeps me from dancing with the one I love, but my mind holds the key.

Didja Get Any Onya?
I found Hail to the Thief slightly dull compared with earlier works, there was nothing wrong with it, but I didn't think it was their best. I'll probably just torrent this one, although the box set looks tempting, £80 is a lot of money for me.

Ssh. You and I would be lynched if we discussed the greatness of Animal Collective.
