Now 100% more avant-garde than Ivan!

i love some pink floyd; i just don't lap up every piece of crap they've crapped out. i remember a time when i used to make excuses for a momentary crap of gilmour being good just because it was by pink floyd... |

There are times when Pink Floyd can be great (Animals, Piper), but then there are times when they can be absolute horseshit (Atom Heart Mother, all that post-Waters bullshit). Anyways, I've overplayed them so much, I literally can't see myself ever wanting to listen to them, ever again. |

The middle three songs on AHM aren't that bad. The opening suite though... |

I like the opening suite, and the three middle tracks. It's Alan's Psychedelic fucking Breakfast that ruins it. |

I can't stand The Wall. It's boring, owerblown and pretentious (but not in an amusing/enjoyable way, like for example most of Yes' discography). I can listen to most of their pre-Wall stuff from time to time and I'm not sure if I want to hear any of the post-Wall albums in their entirety. |

Dark Side and Piper are the only two albums I can fully stomach anymore, tbh. It's a shame, but I just overplayed them completely. The Final Cut is brilliant. Definitely in my top five. Edited by Wings on the Pig, Mar 6 2010, 07:18 AM.

Eww, Final Cut. Piper is fucking awesome and always will be. I probably listen to Syd's solo stuff more than I listen to Floyd now. |

Piper is better than The Wall in my opinion. I think the Wall is low by Floyd standards, considering musical and lyrical greatness of Wish You Were Here and Animals and the genius of Syd Barrett (albeit a crazy genius). But for some reason, its the album everybuddy knows and loves. People constantly chanting "we don't need no education" at my school. By the way, I never listen to any of the studio recordings of Saucerful of Secrets. They're god-awful quality. I only listen to the recordings from the Pompeii show (same with Echoes).
