Most of the bands I listen to I discovered them through research.
But not all:
Dean got me into B&S, and I could never thank Maddy enoguh for getting me into The Zombies.

Because of Pfaff and Woof, I listen to Sun Ra (FTW)
Because of Eric/Ricky I listen to Zappa

I thought I influenced you to listen to both these guys.. ? Meh, maybe not...

Yeah, I knew there were other people in the Sun Ra thread way back at PFO, but I couldn't remember who, and for the Zappa, well Eric sent me my first one. But, pretty much everyone who ever said a good thing about Zappa should be there, but you know...

Are you implying I only listen to two bands? ):

Because of one or more of ASR members (perhaps White Collar Boy, inpart) I am listening to Arcade Fire's self titled release and Shins' Wincing The Night Away.
At first listens, I am only somewhat interested in listening to The Shins a second time. I will give them both a second chance.
Consequently, this is an example of what I had in mind when posting this topic.
I am sure I read a post from a few members which inturn led me to select a few new artists from the library.
That and when I posted a remark about Supertramp and got a response from a member with a Supertramp avatar which increased my want to listen to a specific Supertramp album.
So there you go. Six minutes wasted reading and another minute now wasted wondering why you wasted seven minutes on this.

I read a post of Nick's that said that he listened to Vapor Trails the other day. Then, I saw Dean's post about Starless And Bible Black, so I figured I'd give that one a listen.

May I take this time to say you should listen to Arcade Fire's Funeral and Neon Bible in order to give them your soul.

That goes for everyone, expect CSC and Aaron, who make me weep tears of blood.

Funeral is a great album. If you like them I would actually recommend checking out Grandaddy, their album 'Under The Western Freeway' is great.

What the hell? Both bands couldn't be any more different. Grandaddy are closer to bands like The Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev than the fucking Arcade Fire.

I actually find a great deal of similarity between those two albums. I don't like Grandaddy all that much, if I was going for a random plug it would've been Zappa.

Well at first impression, Arcade Fire strikes me as similar to Modest Mouse and I should not like room for that in the world.
I will do them (Arcade Fire, not Modest Mouse) the honor of a third chance next week.
