Oh. Sorry, I didn't know you were from the US, I just thought it was a "Oh, hurr, look, idiot Americans and their guns" comment. My mistake.

I mean, if you play like me, you had better have your own band. Nobody wants that amount of participation from a bass player.

Actually, I almost wanted to bash somebody's skull in for saying the same thing at another forum. I live right outside DC, so this has been all over the news lately.

If guns were banned, these nutjobs would just find the next weapon in their house. A knife.

I'd rather be shot then stabbed.
Assuming I wasn't killed from either one. But still... UGH. A tiny hole that is formed in milliseconds as opposed to a gaping stab wound with a MUCH better chance of cutting a major artery? Sign me up!

(Neither is good too)

Gun laws shoudl DEFINATELY be stricter.  (In Virginia, you justt need tohave a driver's license to own one.) But all of them banned? Probably not.

Agreed. Automatic weapons should be illegal for everyone. What's the use? Hunting? That's hardly necessary. You should need a permit for ANY kind of gun, and ANY form of criminal record means no guns, ever.

And Thaddeus, of course it does. Someone in our country (Not too far from me) went on a rampage, killed 33 people and wounded many more. I apologize if we seem distressed, sir.

Unless you're describing a different situation, I don't see what you're talking about. I probably live closer to Blacksburg than you do. :cigar: I was just saying it hurts a lot more when somebody you know was there.

I know 6 people or so at VT, so yes it obviously does. It's even more unsettling that I had a scholarship for the honors college there where I would've been an engineering student. Therefore, I could've most definitely been in the engineering building during the shootings.
My friends call me Keith, but you can call me John.

I was a rust repairer.
I was a rust repairer and full-time survivor.
I survived all the major earthquakes, and the Titanic, and several air crashes.

That's fine. I know them all pretty well.
But I know sometimes I must get out in the light.
Better leave her behind with the kids, they're alright.
The kids are alright.

I heard about this a couple of hours ago. Pretty bad stuff. Canada had something similar to this in Dawson College in Montreal last September, but it was much less severe, with one dead and nineteen wounded.

May the thirty-two fatalities R.I.P

Wow, that's really scary.
This kind of stuff just really sucks, and I doubt there will really be any way to stop it...There's just too many screwed up people. Was this person bullied a lot or what? I just don't get how the thought process would work of someone thinking of doing this...

Wouldn't it be funny if they forgot about that one? Seeing as to how it's over 200 years old, they would probably come up with some bullshit anyways.

Well yeah, it's a Constitutional right. It's not about to go away. Gun control needs to be strengthened though. When they wrote the Constitution automatic guns didn't exist. It was just rifles so it wasn't like one person with a gun had an edge over another man with a gun.

Right. Back then, rifles were slow to load, inaccurate, and the longest any of them could possibly shoot accurately was 300 yards. Now, one psycho with an AK47 in a market could kill dozens.

Jack Thompson is already on TV blaiming the whole thing on video games. He's dispicable.

The sicko turned out to be an Asian male who was a resident in one of the dormitories (or the one they found dead, if there were two different shooters) and had two guns, a 9 milimeter 22 caliber. A student said he looked like "a boyscout with a tan vest that buttoned up and a black vest underneath for ammo or something". Another student said that he had "no specific target — just taking out anybody he could." This is really scary, who knows if a copycat will follow him? I think if Columbine did anything for arms safety and sercurity in schools, this is definately going to proudce some changes..
