I vote for the Who, because they have a better voice (Daltrey) a better live sound (Leeds, Wight), better studio albums (Next, Tommy, Quadrophenia, A Quick One, By Numbers) and just have an overall better look/sound, and I Identify with their music more. I may elaborate later |

The Who... I'll debate more later, but mostly because I find them to be musically superior by a bit, and way more creative. |

agreed, I mean not just because Led Zeppelin plagairised a lot..the Who's albums are much more creative, I'd say than Zeppelin's. |

The Who because they're my second favorite rock group ever, besides, of course, The Beatles. While their early work is extremely weak compared to Led Zeppelin's early work, some of it is still good, but they seemed more like a group with no direction. But then Pete wrote up Tommy and they got known for Pete's lyrics and their magical melodies and rocking live shows. Then the 1970s came and every album they released in that decade hail as some of my favorites. Pete's my favorite guitarist for his minimal yet very good guitar playing. Keeping it easy on the studio albums but tearing it apart on stage. Roger has a very accessible voice compared to Robert's, which took me more than a year to appreciate. Bonham and Moon are the early kings of drumming (later joined by Neil), and while Bonham has a beastly swagger, Keith's utter perfect chaos is brilliant and gives early Who albums some character. Plus The Who aged better after their peak (Who's Next and Face Dances are lovely albums) compared to Zeppelin's last two, which are alright but suffer greatly compared to their early works. Both bassists are amazing, Entwistle ('Thunder Fingers') really showing that bass can be the lead guitar to Pete's rhythm playing, and Jones has a really great style, both bassists are amazingly talented, so it's a close call. I suppose Jones could be called the Brain Jones of bass guitar, since he played a ton of different things as well as arranged some tunes ("She's A Rainbow", anyone?). Both amazing groups. Have to go with The Who, though, because ya' know, they didn't steal songs and say babe and other stupid generalizations here. |

Hardly. Zeppelin were fucking awesome live, not that you'd be one to judge since you don't have their epic three CD live album or the DVD. Plus even when Zeppelin's last two studio albums were rather lame, their live shows slayed The Who's around that time. |

I have the DVD. I think The Who are far superior. However, for those who just own The Song Remains the Same that's a shame because it's a piece of shit. |

I wouldn't say that, I think the two former destroy the latter. Getting in Tune has some of Roger's most awesome vocals (Minus Baba, and Fooled) and The Song is Over is Lovely...both FS and MMH are kinda mediocre..Let's just put it this way, I think GIT/TSIO would make a much better single than FS/MMH |

I think The Who are too, but I said hardly. I don't have The Song Remains The Same for the reason you've stated, but I think The Who grew tacky during the end of Moon's life, while (like Tom once said) "alcohol just made Bonham better as the years went on". |

"The Song Is Over" sucks goat dick because it's a rehash of "Pure and Easy" which is The Who's worst song ever. |

Led Zeppelin. "This band is going to sink like a Lead Zeppelin," - John Entwistle, on Led Zeppelin Hardly. With a legendary debut album and many more excellent follow ups, I would take Led Zeppelin over the Who almost any day. I really want to go into elaboration, but this board is full of people who will whine and nitpick at every point I make. |

Who's Better? That's a tougher question than who I like more, because they each had a profound influence on music. The Who were the first band to pull off the Rock Opera thing (although there was one Rock-Opera out before it, but it didn't sell well) and Pete I think I'll go listen to IV because I think it's way better than Who's Next. |
