ROBOTS!
|
I made a The Who compilation today for a friend, I tried to put in relatively easy songs to get into. They're all five-star songs in my library, I love them all... but is the order good? 1. I Can't Explain (Live at Leeds) 2. Pinball Wizard (Live at Leeds) 3. The Real Me 4. Slip Kid 5. Relay (Live at the Royal Albert Hall 6. Naked Eye (Live at the Young Vic, 1971) 7. Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) 8. Amazing Journey/Sparks (Live in Boston 9/16/2006[The show I saw :huu:]) 9. Mike Post Theme 10. Who Are You 11. My Generation |

You really should've stuck Baba O'Riley, Won't Get Fooled Again, Who Are You, and Pinball Wizard in there if the person doesn't know about The Who. |

I was just listing a few.. Magic Bus would work.. You need to give hits to someone new to the music. |

THE JANITOR

Not true. When making compilation discs, we tend to invariably make the discs just as much for ourselves as we do the person receiving the disc. We want the friend or benefactor of the disc to be impressed with the music and indeed ourselves so we usually put on some of our favorite cuts or lesser known gems in hopes that the person we make the disc for will hear the same qualities we hear and like the same songs we like and therefore like ourselves just a little more. We realize that a few of the radio classics or well known songs must go on the discs and even sometimes include alternate versions or live versions of the familiar songs but not too much. With some groups, we know that some of those songs can be heard everywhere so we don't log down the disc with all of that stuff when surely we can get the listener to "hear" things our way and get interested in more than what everyone can listen to on the radio, TV or in the grocery store canned music playing overhead. Now you kids get off my lawn and go play somewhere else! |

Good point. I guess I was just generalizing because I don't know his friend. |

Seriously. Call them the Who. With a double-u (w). Just do it once. And they're not bloody (maybe the rest of the band when Keith was drunk, but aside from that) |

Roger was actually the one that delivered beat downs to the rest of the band. |

Yeah, I actually didn't know that many of the songs either, I only have Who's Next, Quadrophenia, Tommy, and 20th Century Masters, and I barely listen to Quadrophenia or Tommy. All I know is that I would love to buy your Magic Bus. Pancakes too, of course. |
