Yeah, McCartney is ridiculously underrated.

This is coming from someone who doesn't have his tongue up Paul's ass.

:whathesaid:

But my favorite bassist will always be the great Jack Casady.

The bass player for The Doors is great. I'd rate him alongside the bass player for The White Stripes.

There is no bass player for the Doors. :cigar: It's all either Ray Manzarek playing it on his keybaord or a session musician.

And the White Stripes don't have one eithr. Jack White uses a special pedal (I forget what it's called) to get that sound on his guitar.

I'm glad I voted for Pete Quaife. Yesterday ny guitar teacher and I were listening to some Kinks songs. The bass on most early songs is fantastic.

Yeah, I can understand how people can be voting for McCartney because they like him for songwriting and stuff, but can anyone really think he is a great bass player?

Yep he did but i think that Entwistle is still more skillful with the bass. But i never said Macca was not a superb bass player he was and still is amazing.

Sorry, I guess I'm just not familiar enough with The Beatles, so I just made a generalization based on what I'd heard (which isn't that much), and I just never remember much bass.

Their earlier songs weren't that good on bass because nobody had the gall (except for jazz bass players) to play it like that. Try the later albums, like Abbey Road or The White Album.
