Right, he drummed good, but like, as a songwriter. If we're looking at his ability to write music, good music, then I wouldn't rate him very high. |

Hate me, do it and do it again.

His solo album is actually pretty decent. Though not a lot of it is original material. His cover of "In My Life" is almost as heart wrenching as the original, knowing it was made not too long before he died. |

Just because he didn't write anything doesn't mean he wasn't creative. He improvised, and I guarantee you he never played exactly what Pete wrote. He changed it to his style. Either way, how much did Bonham write? |

My friends call me Keith, but you can call me John. I was a rust repairer. I was a rust repairer and full-time survivor. I survived all the major earthquakes, and the Titanic, and several air crashes. Out here in the fields I fight for my meals. ![]() I Don't Mind Other Guys Dancing With My Girl. That's fine. I know them all pretty well. But I know sometimes I must get out in the light. Better leave her behind with the kids, they're alright. The kids are alright. | |

Didn't he write "I Need You", Moon? And technically, John helped write a ton of Zep's music. |

He wrote Cobwebs and Strange as well as I Need You I think. Like I said, it doesn't matter if Keith got the credit, he was very creative on the drums.... And thanks Woofie for your completely off topic input. |

Lol, well back on topic, I have honestly not seen anyone who can go crazy on drum fills while at the same time have cymbal noise in the background... he makes it look so effortless and it creates an awesome wall of sound. |

Yes. Neil Peart also came nearly 15 years after Moon was doing these things. |

10 then? I don't really care, he was influenced like crazy by both guys in this thread. Wiki: Early in his career, Peart's style of playing was deeply rooted in hard rock where he drew most of his inspiration from drummers such as Keith Moon and John Bonham, players who were at the forefront of the British hard rock scene. |

>_> Are you kdding? The bombastic style of drumming, him replacing the high-hate with another cymbal, his chaos and sheer energy. All these things made Moon's drumming unique.
