crucifucks-wisconsin im going to be straight forward and just say it sucked. i couldn't get into it at all. the singer is THE WORST SINGER I HAVE EVER HEARD. bob dylan got criticized for his singing? dylan sounds like a fucking angel compared to this guy. he sounds like the sound i imagine a chicken or duck makes when it is being swung around high in the air by its neck. it was flat out horrible and it gave me quite a headache, hearing his ugly squeals every now and then without any warning. he also has that kind of style of singing that's almost talking sometimes, but not quite talking, and i absolutely HATE that. like what the guy in system of a down does. it drives me crazy. the only two songs that i thought were good were concession stand and wisconsin, especially concession stand though, i thought that song was the gem among dried up dirt. not trying to be insult anyone or anything, it just wasn't what i like and every reviewer has their own opinion i'll give it like a 2/10 |

I should love this then. I'm waiting for when I'm in more of an active listening mood so I can give this one a fitting review. |

Ok, I listened to The Unicorns' album and I can say it's brilliant. The creepy mood of the songs is excellent, the chords contribute to that alot. The sound is very distinctive, but I'd compare the mood of the songs to John Entwistle's solo albums, especially Smash Your Head Against The Wall and Whistle Rhymes (the instrumental arrangements aren't even similar though, I'm not saying that someone here ripped someone off, I'm just comparing the mood of the songs). Anyway, the album is brilliantly done, but it maybe has too many effects, it really wouldn't do them any harm if they'd reduce them in some songs a bit. I give it a 9/10

The Crucifucks - Wisconsin I was really impressed with this one. Doc Corbin Dart's has that same nasally, off-beat quality of Jello Biafra's. In fact, this band reminds me a LOT of the Dead Kennedys, which is primarily a reason why I enjoyed it so. Catchy guitar lines, noisy, politically-charged rantings from a true looney...I loves it all. 9.5/10. (Any possibility of uploading the other half of the Our Will Be Done compilation?) |

I really liked "Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?" Some freaky but cool psuedo-pop goin on there. Sparse guitars with off-kilter vocals and an interesting use of techno and electronic sounds. The lyrics are bizarre as well, but they're able to kind new light to somber subjects like death and yet sound so happy. 9/10 |

It's funny you point that out, the only time I see the Crucifucks mentioned is whenever they're compared to the Dead Kennedys. |

Yeah. Being on Jello's label probably has something to do with it as well. |
