I realized that tomorrow is Friday, so fuck sending it tomorrow, I'll send it tonight. I do however, strongly encourage listening to Dean's excellent selection of Belle and Sebastian and posting a review.

My selection (OMG incredibly indie album cover!!) :

Probably the happiest music about death ever imprinted onto a CD.  Packed full of witty lyrics (puns abound!) and melodic hooks, this album is "pop"(negative connotations aside) done right. I am very curious how you all will react to this unusual album, but I hope you like it.

I'll load it later tonight, but what's an easiest way to send it to you all?

With the help of Woofie, the album has been sent out.

I forgot to mention, if you have heard of The Islands (I remember somebody on this board mentioning them), two of the three members of the Unicorns went off and formed their own band which came to be The Islands.

The Unicorns---Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?

i just realized i listened to the album in a completely messed up order, so whatever benefit the running order has to the album, i missed out. but anyway, this was a very weird album. i've never heard anything like this before. it sounds incredibly indie. it was a really weird thing, it sounded so happy and lighthearted, but at the same time it sent chills down my back, for some reason it creeped me out. it was cool. the album doesn't have to rely on that strange feeling it gives people either, because the music by itself rules too. the tracks that stood out to me most were jellybones(especially), child star, i was born(a unicorn), and les os.

overall, i'll give it an 8/10

Really good band, the Unicorns.

I was prepared to hate this band, seeing as all the indie kids love them and I hate most things the indie kids love and because I'm just that indie, but I found myself really enjoying this record. This some of the most inventive, fun pop you'll ever find. The lyrics were hilarious in contrast to the music, too.

I gives it a 8.5. Really good stuff.

Fuck, is it out of order? It should start with I Don't Want To Die, and end with I'm Ready To Die.

ya, i had my itunes sorting my library by date added, because i was downloading a bunch of other stuff and it was easier for me to just have it all sorted out like that so i could get it all listened to, but i guess it added the songs out of order, so i listened to them out of order. when i sorted it back to "sort by artist", i realized i had listened to it out of order. i heard jellybones first, which by the way would have been an awesome opener in my opinion.

Well, where do I begin with this one? It sounds like three shmucks found a Casio keyboard and decided to make an album. The end result is your typical peppy indie pop album, whilst completely listenable, is a heaping pile of expected shit. It kinda reminds me of an autistic version of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (not to say Yoshimi is all that much superior).

Whatever lyrical theme there may be, I find it hard to follow under all the twee pop bleeping and blooping.

I don't know. Maybe it's just not my style. It just feels so ingenuine and synthetic.

I really can't be more generous than a 2.5/10.

Dear Catastrophe Watiress:

I'm not in a big review-mood at the moment, so this won't be that long. Anyway, I really enjoyed this album. It's a step forward for Bell and Sebastian, adding more poppy elements and different kinds of arrangements/instruments to their music. It isn't as good as The Life Pursuit, but it's certainly their secon-strongest effort from what I've heard. 9/10

if that was a dig against me for picking elephant after you said you'd already heard it, big deal, so the world doesn't revolve around what you want. im glad you finally are coming to that realization. besides, why the hell would you think that i would want to change my pick to please you of all people.

if you were just simply trying to say "well it was something new, and that's always good once in a while," then i guess you can ignore my comment.
