I didn't say he should like them, but I'm pretty sure he's never heard Foxtrot.

I'm gonna sit this one out as I'm not a fan of Genesis and I don't want to knock them.

It's not Phil Collins, you Noel lover.

Me and Noel just happen to have similar taste in music (he had the BJM open for them during the Morning Glory tour), only his hatred of Genesis' music is focused personally towards Phil Collins. I just don't like their sound and I recognize that there's no way I could really objectively review it, so I'm doing the honorable thing and skipping out on the review. If anyone is really interested in what I have to say about it or really wants me to listen to it I'd be happy to, but you might as well place big bets that I'm gonna hate it while you're at it.

Talk about not giving a band a chance.

I have though. I haven't heard that whole album but I have heard a compilation (courtesy of Dean) and I'm not interested. BUT it wouldn't be right for me not to listen to them.

Ok, that's fine if you don't want to do it, but don't be afraid to do it and tear the band apart. It's your opinion. I don't give a shit if anyone cares if my reasons for hating The Smiths debut are legit or not. Everybody has different reasons for liking and disliking stuff.

Anyway, have you heard Supper's Ready by Genesis?

Well Echoes is my favourite song, and I don't think that'll change anytime soon.

It's my 2nd favorite, so I doubt I will agree either, but I'll still take a look.

And to Zep222, I guess they don't have to be bands that nobody has heard of, but I just think it would be better if most people hadn't listened to the band, instead of doing less popular albums by popular bands. Just a suggestion.

yes im the first to review this one! i feel really cool and important

(clears throat)

GENESIS--FOXTROT

well i don't really listen to a whole lot of genesis, whenever i think of them i think of the lion king(even though phil collins did the soundtrack for tarzan not lion king) and this guy http://uk.gizmodo.com/hrp2_dancing.jpg.

starting out, watcher in the skies was pretty good, i actually enjoyed the long organ-sounding part at the beginning, although i think it was too long. i thought the guitar work was awesome on this song. definitely one of the best songs on the album

time table i remember when i was listening to this one my thought was that this will probably be my favorite song on the album. i think it was. the chorus sounds very cool, and i liked the lyrics a lot

get em' out by friday- i remember i didn't like this song very much, i found it to get kind of boring since it was so long.

can-utility and the coastliners was good, there were some little bits where i was reminded of the who's tommy(does anyone else hear this?) one of the better songs on the album

horizons-sounded nice

supper's ready- i could tell that this was a really good song, if i listened to it again i would probably think this song was really good and by far the highlight of the album. but i kind of think it was too long, i think it was dragged out too much.

overall, i think the longer songs were drug out too long, but other than that it was good. for some reason this album gives me this feeling that if i were a genesis fan, this would be one of my favorite albums ever. i think my feelings about it being too long are a result of me not listening to them at all, i remember my first time EVER hearing baba o'riley and thinking "when is this weird organ thing going to end?" so if i were a bigger fan, i would probably think it was awesome

since im not a bigger fan though, i will give this album a 3.5 out of 5
anyone for tennis?
