Contact Music - OASIS are to be honoured by their heroes THE BEATLES - RINGO STARR is to hand the rockers their Outstanding Contribution to Music prize at the Brit Awards in London later this month (14FEB07). The WONDERWALL rockers were due to receive the prestigious prize from Hollywood star JOHNNY DEPP, but he pulled out because of scheduling conflicts, so the Beatles legend has been drafted in. It is a great honour for the Manchester, northern England band - they're huge fans of the Beatles and Ringo's son ZAK played with them at live dates in 2005. A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "It is the ultimate accolade for the lads to be honoured by their heroes. It is something they have dreamed of ever since they were starting out in their Manchester bedrooms."

Haha. If Ringo was my dad I'd be excited, anyway. :cigar:

Were The Who presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award? It would be cool if Zak was presented it with Oasis and The Who, back to back years.
