It's time for him to run for President. I'm thinking about working for his campaign. We need his positive message. Thoughts?

Agreed... He's the only one that running that can help unite this country. All the rest on the Dem's and Republican side are a joke. John McCain is starting to look like an opportunist, now he is sucking up to the crazy religious right speaking at Jerry Falwell's college. Also, McCain wants more troops in Iraq. Obama has been against the war from the start and he has shown that he can work with the opposition party also. |

I like Obama for President. He's a very intelligent man. Have any of you read his new book? My step-dad got it for Christmas, so I'm waiting on him to finish it so I can read it!
Back on the presidential topic, if Giuliani runs I also like him, so I don't know which one I would go for more between him and Obama.

Rudy is a freak he married his own cousin (first marriage). Rudy will never be president he can't win the Republican nomination because he is a pro-choice republican. You must suck up to Falwell and etc to get the nomination for the Republican party. We need Obama |

I'd vote for Giuliani. If poll numbers for Giuliani grow stronger, I can see the Republican party nominating him. They'd rather have a Republican president without 100% support of the party than a Republican candidate who loses that has the 100% support. And if he fails to get the Republican nomination, I would hope he'd run as an Independent. While it would hamper his chances, I'd think he'd still be a formidable opponent. Anyway, that's the kind of mudslinging that ruins political debates for everyone, Mr. Guest. I, personally, don't think Obama has done enough to warrant being elected president. |

He wouldn't come from across the park! George got on the phone, yelled, 'Take those fucking shades off and come over here, you!' John still wouldn't come over. He had a balloon delivered with a sign saying, LISTEN TO THIS BALLOON. It was all quite far out." -Paul McCartney | |

He can't win he's for gun control, gay rights and pro choice, it's impossible for him to win the Republican nomination. Also, Rudy isn't a uniter the African American community in New York hates him. Obama is more qualified than anyone else because the man is open minded(Excellent speaker on par with Kennedy and Reagan) and will actually speak to other countries and hopefully we can rebuild some alliances that we have lost during the current administration. |

Did I say Giuliani was going to win? No. I said he'd have a chance if his poll numbers improve, and if not he should run as an Independent. Just like you should worry about Obama winning the Democratic nomination (especially since he's not the leading candidate) before you elect him president. EDIT: By the way, the most recent CNN poll has Giuliani at 49% and Obama at 42% if the two were to run against each other for President. |

I'm not electing him president but I was told by Jesse Ventura's old campaign manager about a year ago that he might also throw his hat in to the ring. |

I hope everyone here who backs Obama is doing so because of his political views on a wide range of issues, as well as his experience and record in office so far, rather than because of his race. Honestly test your motives by imagining him as white. If that turns you away from his candidacy, then your views are colored by racism. |

i just figured out yesterday that i will be exactly 18 yrs and 1 month old by the time of the next presidential election, making me eligible to vote, which is very weird. right now, i would have to say i will vote for the democratic rep, only because i was raised democrat, and so naturally i think that is the way things should be done. but i pretty much know nothing about politics right now, so i am definitely going to have to do some research in the next year and 11 months i think it would be cool if obama was elected our first black president. he is a good guy. |

But the media is making an issue out of him being African-American, as he himself refers to as his background, to my knowledge. I didn't know he was black and white mixed. Which shows to me the push the media is giving him based on the black "part" of his heritage. I guess such mixed-race individuals can be whatever race they want to identify with then, depending on the circumstances. It reminds me of all the hullabaloo over Halle Berry being the first "black" actress to win the best actress Oscar. I'm glad you believe in him and see him as a good person. He seems like a very good person to me also, based on what I've been able to find out. It's just that I've always been skeptical about media-driven personalities that appear out of nowhere and are then pushed, pushed, pushed on the public seemingly without end. The various news organizations use phrases such as political "rock star", "fast-rising", "Democrat's future" in such fawning fashion that you'd think he was the Saviour returning for us at last. All this without knowing really very much about the guy, who admittedly has no international experience, and is in his first term as senator. I've long ago learned to be suspicious of unexplained hype and adulation by a media populated with journalists hankering to not just report the news of the day, but to influence it according to their own biases. |
