I can't really predict what will happen in the UK. I don't know what they think about some of the artists. I would think Love would debut high, and then drop out quickly, since most people who want it will buy it fast, whereas some of the other albums will have more staying power. |

My Beatles Trading Post (Updated Regularly) "George had just come off tour, I'd flown in specially from England, Ringo had flown in specially, too, I think, and John wouldn't show up! He wouldn't come from across the park! George got on the phone, yelled, 'Take those fucking shades off and come over here, you!' John still wouldn't come over. He had a balloon delivered with a sign saying, LISTEN TO THIS BALLOON. It was all quite far out." -Paul McCartney | |

Yeah, that's probably true, but then again, there are probably still a bunch of die-hard Beatlemaniacs in the UK who will keep the album's sales up. |

I figured Oasis would dominate the battle half the world away... I hate my puns, too. |

As of the last numbers I got on Tuesday, it was: 1. Oasis - 52,000 2. Westlife - 51,000 3. The Beatles - 31,000 4. U2 - 18,000 This was leaving out one of the big retail stores which I can't remember the name of. Anyway, those numbers are a day old and even though HMV said that Oasis were outselling second place 3 to 1, I'm now seeing reports that Westlife may take it (seeing as they're the only band of the four major ones that have new material out). |

It's the greatest one up there musically, but that don't mean it will win, sadly. |

The battle is over and Westlife has won. Most of the shops predicted it would be Oasis and most of the bookies predicted it would be The Beatles, but in a remarkable show of absolute bullshit taste, the shitty Irish boy band Westlife sold more records than either of them last week (from Monday to today). The standings are: 1. Westlife - The Love Album 2. Oasis - Stop The Clocks 3. The Beatles - Love 4. U2 - 18 Singles 5. George Michael - Twentyfive It's interesting to note how many people voted for The Beatles here even after I posted news that they were losing by several thousand copies. |

Limited edition with a DVD which features a 32 page booklet, a 40 minute interview with Noel and Liam about the songs on the album, a preview of the 'Lord, Don't Slow Me Down' film, a live version of Champagne Supernova when they played Knebworth to nearly 300,000 people over two nights, a live version of the b-side Fade Away, and a gallery. You can find it on amazon for like 22 bucks when you factor in shipping and handling, which is a bargain compared to what you'll probably get for the same thing at FYE. I pre-ordered mine last monday, it should be getting here wednesday the latest. |

Funny how the band that had no votes won the race. Oasis which only me and Carpenter voted for was #2 and Love which was voted the majority here was #3. I guess not many people liked Love over in the UK. |
