I think he's going by some bootleg he heard of them doing a Beatles cover which 'sucked' (though it probably wasn't them anyway).

Judging by the info at my disposal as of right now, I vote Oasis.

He's the singer, but I don't know how you can conceivably say Westlife is better than Oasis. 1) I'd bet you've never heard them (even though you'll probably counter this by saying you have) and 2) they're like the British version of those crappy boy bands from a few years back that ceased to exist here in the US.

The reason I say Westlife is better than Oasis is because I absolutely hate everything I read about Oasis. They may be more talented, and it may be an unfair method of measure, but that's my feeling.

I have not heard more than one song of Westlife, not even sure of what it was. Actually, I wouldn't even to hear one song by them to prefer them to Oasis. I hated it, and I may have liked Oasis more if I hadn't read what this Liam moron tends to always say. I have heard Oasis, and I think saying, "you'll counter by saying you have" is ridiculous.

But by the way, I am allowed to have an opinion. Let's not get into why the other person is wrong - in this thread at least.

If I hadn't said that, you probably would've =D

All he said was 'If you haven't gotten the Beatles by now, you won't'. What's wrong with that? It's a fucking compliment. He's basically saying the original Beatles LPs should be enough to get people to love the Beatles (like he does and like you and me do), but he can't get a word out without you saying he's an idiot.

Oh please, sir. It just seems that he's a bit too involved in how he wants the whole thing to turn out, but I also remember him saying many stupid things about them besides that. Don't exaggerate by saying "he can't get a word out" - of course he can, but I wish he wouldn't.

Well he does, and he's sold around 60 million records.

Oasis needs YOU

November 22, 2006

LENNON, McCARTNEY, GALLAGHER, BONO, THE EDGE.

Some of the greatest names in music to ever hail from these fair isles.

EGAN, FEEHILY, BYRNE, FILAN. Some of the not-so-great names in music to hail from these fair isles.

Yet I have some tragic news, readers. The battle for superiority in the Supergroups Showdown, the biggest head-to-head of musical greats in chart history, looks like it’s going to be won by . . . WESTLIFE.

Forget OASIS, THE BEATLES and U2, it is the four Oirish, stool-loving balladeers who look like unravelling everything we hold sacred in this country’s musical heritage and claiming Sunday’s top album.

While early official midweek chart figures show Oasis just leading the pack, the news is grim for people who like their music with guitars, bass, drums and genuine talent.

The numbers show Oasis at No1 on 52,000, Westlife at No2 on 51,000, The Beatles at No3 on 31,000 and U2 at No4 with 18,000.

But these do NOT take into account the massive amount of Tesco sales, which will weigh heavily in Westlife’s favour.

Experts predict that with housewife supermarket purchasing, Oasis will be pushed aside and de ’Loife will breeze into the No1 spot by an easy 5,000 sales.

Boy bland ... Westlife hits machine must be stopped

But fear not, comrades, it is not too late to stop this tragedy.

With people power and a swell of support from Bizarre readers it is possible to overturn this catastrophe.

My artists have mocked up a LIAM GALLAGHER version of Lord Kitchener’s World War One recruitment poster to inspire you to put your hands in your pockets and prevent disaster.

If every man, woman and child among you gets behind Oasis’s Stop The Clocks, The Beatles’ album Love or U2’s singles collection 18 then we can perhaps hold our heads high when the charts are announced on Sunday.

Totally impartial but closet Westlife fan Gennaro Castaldo, from HMV, said it was the most exciting chart battle in ages and that Oasis fans should not give up yet.

He told me yesterday: “People might have thought the race for the No1 album this week would be between Oasis and The Beatles, and perhaps U2, but Westlife are proving their enduring appeal.

“But Gallagher fans shouldn’t lose heart. While Westlife may be edging overall figures, it’s no contest at HMV, where Stop The Clocks is currently outselling The Love Album by nearly three to one.

“If it came down to just HMV customers, Oasis would swagger in to the top spot.”

Do your bit, Bizarre readers — buy Stop The Clocks and do your bit to Stop The C*cks.

Let the hate mail commence.

I don't know about Love, I haven't heard too many nice things about it or at least about Paul and the producer guy-man.

Paul didn't do anything except record the original songs back in the sixties. It's all their producer George Martin and his son Giles Martin.

Maybe he was referring to Noel's recent comment that (and this is simplifying it) soldiers fighting for Britain in Iraq who are injured in battle should stop whinging :cigar:

Thing is, when you simplify something, you take it out of context.
Before he said that, he was talking about how gung ho some of them were about going to kill muslims and stuff, and how even though there was no draft or anything people stilil volunteered. So what he was saying was basically that if you're dying to go to war, you might get shot, and you might have to deal with whatever compensation the govt. gives you and not protest for more (which some soldiers were doing). It's all about context you see.
