School Shootings

Okay so this is basically a topic where you discuss all things related to school violence, including shootings, stabbings, bomb threats, etc etc.

I decided to make this topic after I just heard on CNN Headline News that there has been reports of a shot fired at a school in South Florida. I thought "Well, geez, this is like the 3rd or 4th time recently I've been hearing of school violence! There was like a hostage situation in Colorado, someone in Wisconsin shot the pricnipal, and even a plain suicide here in Texas earlier this month."

Now, I also just saw that some schools are training the students to go on the offense, you know, use their numbers, by throwing cell phones, backpacks, binders, and even rushing the attacker. I think that is the totally wrong approach.

If the attacker(s) has/have a gun, which is usually the case, hence "school shooting," then yes, I would say it probably isn't a smart idea to throw your cellphone at him/her. But I have heard in several cases where even little girls have used their numbers to beat down people like "flashers" and such and hold them until the police get there. So I suppose that idea could work sometimes. But not when the person has a gun.

Yeah, like you said, flashers and shooters are different people. I think that I would try my best and leave the defeat of the shooter up to the police or SWAT or whoever. But, I guess, I'd end up making my best judgement.

I live in South Florida, but I haven't heard of anyone getting shot.

Although, lately, some kid has been pulling the fire alarm as a prank and my school had enough of it, so they called the cops to watch the students today. The parking lot was swarming with cop cars. The principal and an officer went around the school telling everyone that pulling the fire alarm as a prank is a federal offense. Whatever kid that is, good luck to him.

That IS scary! As if there aren't some teachers that are just as crazy as the students! In fact, I just saw on the news last night that somewhere, I forget where, a teacher was arrested for making a bomb threat!!! :fear: There wasn't one, but imagine that crazy woman with a gun!

This is just great.

Now if the student refuses to have sex with the teacher, she can threaten him with her gun(s).
