Well, I only know the few big hits. And I'm sifting through those compilation albums, God, Love and Murder.

There's this song, 'Joe Bean' I think it's called? Black humour - who would have expected otherwise?

I have been focused on three songs by "the man in black" this past week.
"Down To 301", "Hurt" and "God's Gonna Cut You Down".
I remember "..301" from long ago when my father would play his 8-tracks and had long been without owning a copy of the song until last year, I found an album at a garage sale that has the song. Took it out for a spin last week just to hear "Down To 301".
"Hurt" and "God's Gonna Cut You Down" I had heard on television a few times over the past couple of years so a few weeks ago I got a disc that has the two songs. For the times when Johnny's voice is comparitivly weak on the two tracks and the volume is distorted, the songs and emotion make up for the faults. Good songs; all three.

Johnny Cash is a fucking legend.

Only got into him recently, but I'm a big fan. Cocaine Blues is probably my favourite song, though its hard to pick.

The Walk the Line movie is awesome definitely. I think Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal was actually pretty damn good, he deserved awards for it, more than Witherspoon's June Carter did anywhos.

American Recordings still pwn his older stuff. Take that, Ivan. He even made that Eagles song sound kickass.

Quiet Jiri.

Although I do give him credit for making an Eagles song sound good, an almost impossible task.

Heh.

Now 100% more avant-garde than Ivan!
I've only heard Live at San Quentin so far and it's pretty kickass. Possibly the greatest crowd interaction I've heard on rekkid.

I like two Eagles rekkids.

Jumps on his Eagles "fanwagon" claiming that The Long Run and Hotel California are choice.

I may like Johnny just a bit more, however and Rush possibly the best of the three.

growing up i really hated the eagles until a couple of years ago when i realized that "heartache tonight" rules. i like them now, but i've never listened to anything except their singles even though i have a couple of their records. i can understand the hatred because i used to hate them, too.
oh, and i love johnny cash.
