Anybody have any love for my favorite country singer? Walk The Line is probably one of the most beautiful songs ever written, no? |

You know Ring Of Fire was written by June Carter about falling in love with a drug-addict Johnny Cash. |

How bout that Joaquin Phoenix ey? Heck of an actor. I was kind of pissed because Reese Witherspoon was winning all the awards and stuff for her portayal of June Carter, even though Phoenix tried his best to act like Cash and Witherspoon didn't study June Carter at all and only created a character to play instead of trying to be like Carter. They both did a great job though. |

I think Cash reached the height of his popularity in the '60s, so I moved it here....he's really one of those guys that transcends generational boundaries. As a side note, I don't know why a link was left in the other forum. I swear that I hit "No." |

My Beatles Trading Post (Updated Regularly) "George had just come off tour, I'd flown in specially from England, Ringo had flown in specially, too, I think, and John wouldn't show up! He wouldn't come from across the park! George got on the phone, yelled, 'Take those fucking shades off and come over here, you!' John still wouldn't come over. He had a balloon delivered with a sign saying, LISTEN TO THIS BALLOON. It was all quite far out." -Paul McCartney | |

Ya but then you'd have to put him in the 70's too, because he did alot then. i think he's better suited for the 50's, its just the type of performer he was, and that era is what he's most known for. You know part of that whole stable at SUN, and the whole front man with a guitar shtick. |

He only released three albums in the '50s: 1957, 1958 and 1959 and his biggest hit songs (Ring of Fire, I Walk The Line) were from the '60s, as was his most iconic album, At Folson Prison (1968). By the '70s though his mainstream popularity started to decline. I just went with his most successful decade and put him in that. |

If another moderator feels differently, it would be fine if it were moved somewhere else. Particulary Carpenter. |

I like Johnny Cash. I especially like the song 'Hurt' and 'Ring Of Fire'. I have yet to see the movie though, I never seem to get it from the beginning when they put it on DirecTv. |

It's difficult to place Johnny Cash in one specific decade because he had some level of success in each one (even in this one with his 'Hurt' and American albums). |

I'm a big Johnny Cash fan. I grew up with him. My whole family always listened to him as I was younger and it just stuck. He's good, although I don't think he's quite at the level of Hank Williams. But, nonetheless, he's my favorite country artist. Favorite Songs:
At San Quentin is a great live album. |
