I just heard on the radio that now Heather is claiming that while they were married, Paul brutalized her by: 1.) "Stabbing her with a wine glass." 2.) "Pushing her over a coffee table." 3.) "Grabbing her by the throat several times." I am not someone to automatically dismiss things just because I happen to love the person being accused. I've read that in the past Paul has been known to have a bit of a temper and he has had "control issues." BUT, if this is true, why the hell did she stay with him for so long? Sorry, but I'm not really buying it. I think Heather is a crazy bitch. What do you think? (p.s. - I wasn't really sure where to put this, so "Current Events" seemed just as good a place as anywhere else. I probably should create a General Paul topic like the one for John, but this will do for now.) |

Here's an extented article (thanks, Serena!): ABACAUSA.COM (left), NFGoff.com (right)In court documents filed by Heather Mills, she claims that estranged husband Paul McCartney was physically violent towards her, took drugs and stopped her from breastfeeding their baby during their marriage. She says while in LA in November 2002, he grabbed her by the neck and pushed her over a coffee table. In May 2003 she claims he shoved her into a bath. In Aug 2005, he allegedly choked her after she accused him of smoking marijuana. In April 2006, the documents state, he tipped red wine over her; he then broke the wine glass and lunged at her with the sharp stem of the wine glass which cut Heather’s arm. See the specific allegations detailed below, as reported by London's Evening Standard: October 2002: McCartney loudly pointed out that Mills was in a bad mood, in front of other people. When they returned home McCartney and Mills began to argue about the McCartney’s behaviour. McCartney grabbed Mills by the neck and pushed her over a coffee table. He then went outside and, in his drunken state, fell down a hill, cutting his arm. May 2003: The couple were in a hotel in Rome when McCartney behaved coldly towards Mills, who was pregnant and who was distressed by a derogatory newspaper article about her. An argument ensued in which McCartney became angry and pushed Mills into the bath. Mills suffered distress but was made to go to McCartney’s evening concert. May 2003: Following the concert, in a fit of pique because Mills refused to go to the aftershow party, McCartney directed a female bodyguard to abandon Mills, leaving her exposed to hordes of fans. The respondent was forced to take a 30 minute walk back to the hotel because no taxi was available. August 2003: In Long Island, Mills asked McCartney if he had been smoking marijuana. He became angry, grabbed her neck and started choking her. October 2003: McCartney often told Mills when she was pregnant that he did not want her to breast-feed their child, making the comment "they are my breasts" and "I don't want a mouthful of breast milk". November 2003: McCartney required Mills to defer an essential operation on her leg because it would have interfered with holiday plans. December 2003: Mills had a broken pelvic plate McCartney insisted that she cook for him while she was on crutches, could barely move and was in agony. Mid-November 2004: McCartney failed to protect Mills from adverse press reports despite being in a position to do so. Mills was warned that a forthcoming article about her was about to come out in The Sunday Times magazine and included the line: "The best thing that ever happened to Heather Mills McCartney was losing her leg" which was distressing. As McCartney had been asked to participate in the half-time entertainment for the Superbowl on Fox TV owned by Rupert Murdoch (who also owns The Sunday Times), Mills asked McCartney to tell Rupert Murdoch that he would not confirm his participation in the Superbowl unless he agreed not to run the story. McCartney refused to assist in this way. September/October 2005: McCartney called Mills an "ungrateful bitch" in front of their driver when she explained why an office he had provided was not right for her. Having refused to allow Mills to use his spare office on the floor beneath their apartment, which would have allowed for a creche in one part of the office, McCartney had insisted she use an office that was far too small and was 20 minutes walk away. When Mills went to view it, she was chased by paparazzi and was so demoralised by the experience she never used the office. April 2006: Shortly after Mills’ revision amputation surgery she was forced to crawl on her hands and knees up aeroplane steps because they were not wide enough to take her wheelchair. McCartney had assured Mills he had taken care of her disability needs in connection with the trip. April 2006: An argument occurred during which McCartney poured a bottle of red wine over Mills’ head and then threw what remained in his wine glass at her. McCartney then reached to grab Mills’ wine glass, and broke the bowl of the glass from the stem. He then lunged at the Mills with the sharp stem of the glass, which cut and pierced Mills’ arm just below the elbow causing her to bleed profusely. He proceeded to manhandle Mills, flinging her into her wheelchair and wheeling it outside, screaming at her to apologize for "winding him up". April 2006: Mills asked McCartney not to leave her alone with their daughter Beatrice at the Cabin (because it is isolated in a forest). She had just had surgery on her leg, was in a wheelchair, and was anxious about her ability to cope by herself. Notwithstanding this, he walked off. Mills then telephoned McCartney, and asked him to return. McCartney mocked her pleas, mimicking the voice of a nagging spouse, and refused to return. April 2006: It is alleged that Mills found McCartney staggering, undressed him and ran the bath and helped him into it. She then phoned the McCartney’s psychiatrist for advice and was told not to attempt to move him, to get a duvet and two pillows, to empty the bath of water, cover him, and leave him there. Mills thereupon dragged herself upstairs, on her hands and knees (she was unable to wear her prosthetic leg as the wound from surgery had not yet healed) and brought back down the pillows. She found that McCartney had vomited on himself. She rinsed him off, and got him out the bath. At that time Mills had a broken plate in her pelvis and she was in agony. April 2006: On April 27 Mills knew McCartney would be too hungover to help her with Beatrice and due to her own incapacity as a result of an operation, she had to call the babysitter to help get Beatrice to nursery. The following day McCartney went to London but said he would be back in time to help the put Beatrice to bed. He did not arrive back at her bedtime even though he knew Mills could not cope on her own. McCartney arrived home drunk and demanded dinner and called the respondent a nag. That evening Mills realized the marriage had irretrievably broken down and left, crawling on her hands and knees while dragging her wheelchair, crutches and basic personal possessions to the car. No date given: Mills asked McCartney if she could buy an antique bedpan to keep under the bed at night so she wouldn't have to crawl to the bathroom when her prosthetic leg was not fitted. McCartney objected, saying it would be like being in "an old woman's home." And here's Paul's response. McCartney Responds to Divorce Claims Wed Oct 18, 6:29 PM ET Lawyers for Paul McCartney said Wednesday that he will "vigorously" defend himself against allegations that he physically abused his estranged wife, Heather Mills McCartney. Britain's Daily Mail newspaper on Wednesday reported details of an alleged court document filed by Mills McCartney containing accounts of mistreatment and drug use during the couple's four-year marriage. "Our client will be defending these allegations vigorously and appropriately," law firm Payne Hicks Beach, representing Paul McCartney, said in a statement. The 64-year-old rocker and 38-year-old anti-land mine campaigner announced their separation in May and have begun divorce proceedings in an increasingly acrimonious split. They have a 3-year-old daughter, Beatrice. Mills McCartney's spokesman, Phil Hall, described the divorce proceedings as "highly confidential" and said he could not confirm whether the document cited in the report was genuine. He said Mills McCartney had been "shocked" by the Daily Mail's story. The newspaper did not reveal how it had acquired the document, which alleges that McCartney once attacked his wife with a broken wine glass, stabbing her in the arm and causing profuse bleeding. It also claims that he used illegal drugs and drank to excess. The newspaper reported that the purported 13-page submission also alleged that McCartney had pushed his estranged wife into a bathtub while she was pregnant with their child. It said the document, said to be filed by Mills McCartney in response to the former Beatle's divorce petition, lodged in July, also claimed McCartney had later objected to his partner breast-feeding their daughter. The newspaper quoted the alleged court papers as saying McCartney had told his wife "they are my breasts." It reported that the document alleged McCartney had grabbed his wife's neck and started choking her during a trip to the U.S. in 2003 and on an earlier occasion pushed her over a coffee table. Mills McCartney is reported to claim in the legal papers that in late 2005 her husband forced her to cancel surgery for two months, as it interfered with their holiday plans. Mishcon de Reya, the law firm representing Mills McCartney in the divorce, said it would not comment on "leaked or allegedly leaked documents." It said it could not confirm whether or not a response to McCartney's divorce petition had been lodged with a court. "Mills McCartney stands by everything that has been filed at court on her behalf and intends to prove its truth in due course should this be necessary," the law firm said in a statement. Paul McCartney's law firm said the musician "would very much like to respond in public and in detail to the allegations made recently against him by his wife and published in the press but he recognizes, on advice, that the only correct forum for his response to the allegations made against him is in the current divorce proceedings." "Our client is saddened by the breakdown of his marriage and requests that his family is allowed to conduct their personal affairs out of the media spotlight for the sake of everybody involved," the statement added. |

John was an abuser too. Just not often. It's an unfortunate fact. I am not sure what to say about Heather's claims yet... |

That's true, but Paul's temper is more of the saying a few hateful things (I believe the "ungrateful bitch" part) and storming off. She's full of it and starting lies to make her self look better after all the bad press she recieved a few months ago. Heather's screaming victim when she's the culprit. I hate that shit. |

Heather does have reason to lie. The divorce trial is coming up and she does want some sympathy and damage control after her past was revealed. I hope this stuff isn't true. |

Like I said, I think Heather's just trying to even the score or whatever because of all the bad press she was in. She's trying to put Paul in bad light. Not cool, Heather. Lieing won't help your case. As far as the drugs go, I believe he probably still used; however, she knew he did it when they were dating. I know he told her he'd quit, but damn, he'd been doing it for 25+ years. I'm not making excuses for Paul, but could she really expect him to quit a habit cold turkey after that many years? |

i was reading the "alleged abuses" and cracked up. Just reading that i KNEW it was bullshit!! Come on, noone goes that crazy, and noone sticks around for all of that. Granted one of those things could've happened, but a second or thrid time would've ended it sooner i think. But all of those claims are bullshit and i highly doubt Pauly did any of it. i do believe they had gone through arguements, "bitch" was prolly thrown around, but i don't think Paul would be that cruel, no matter his past or whatever. I do believe he still smoked pot, and we will learn the eventual truth soon enough . . . |

I am not saying that these allegations are of a mild nature, but I have heard of cases where women have stayed with their husbands while suffering much more serious abuse (beatings, rape). If you can find out why these women stayed with their husbands, maybe you will get an answer to your question (and I'm not suggesting that Heather's claims are true, btw). |

I think some of you are letting your personal fantasies and blind faith in your hero/celebrity get the better of your unbiased thinking. Secondly, what difference does it make? Perhaps some of the Paul McCartney star is very much tarnished by his true and personal behavior. Why do some of you even begin to think you know what he is like away from an interview you have seen or the sentiments of your favorite Beatles/McCartney song. If he did or did not slap a woman would that cause you to mature a little and see things in this big old world a little differently? How does it personally affect you in your daily life? You still have to go to school or work and support yourself. Do not be shocked because you do not know all there is to know about a person you have never talked with or anyone else for that matter. You can, however be understanding and sympathitic. If you feel disillusionment from stories of your personal heroes or celebrities and you choose to believe and take personally those stories then perhaps you should look at yourself more and your favorite McCartney pose less. Now I understand that some of you just want to talk about whatever is on your mind and some of you are still very impressionable and we all have our ways of getting attention and relating to others. I don't want to weigh down your emotions so whoever is next can type the usual silly yar srsly, or Imao, or even a smilie so go 'head. "pwn!" away there dinosaur breath.

Thanks for killing the hater mood, man. I disagree with you. If we were disillusioned by our liking of Paul, we would be defending him wholeheartedly and not admitting his faults as we are. IF he had a violent nature, it wouldn't have just appeared with Heather. Paul was w/ Linda for 25 years. We never heard anything about Paul attacking her or their kids. That marriage was very quiet which is unusual for celebrity marriages. |
